Mealox. Indications for use

Medication is prescribed for acute gastritis. At a chronic stage in a phase of an exacerbation of the specified disease with the raised or normal secretory activity the medicine "Maaloks" is also recommended. Indications for use include the hernia of the esophageal opening in the diaphragm. Recommended medication for gastric discomfort on the background of inaccuracies in the diet, drinking alcohol, coffee, smoking or taking medication. The drug is prescribed not only as a symptomatic therapy. For prevention, the "Maalox" medication is also recommended. The drug is recommended if pain occurs or after an hour or one and a half after eating.

Adults are prescribed fifteen milliliters of suspension (one sachet or a tablespoon) or one (two) tablets throughout the day three times and one more for the night.

The drug "Maalox" for children is recommended from four months. Patients up to a year are prescribed on the floor of a spoon (tea), over a year - on a teaspoon of suspension three times a day.

Tablets should be chewed (dissolve) until completely dissolved. The suspension from the sachet can be squeezed onto a spoon or directly into the mouth. It is recommended that the vial of the suspension be shaken or kneaded between the fingers before taking Maalox.

It is recommended to take the drug two hours before or after using indomethacin, H2 blockers, histamine receptors, acetylsalicylic acid (other salicylates), aminazine, beta-adrenoblockers, phenytoin, isoniazid, diflunizal, phosphorus-containing agents, antibiotics from the tetracycline series.

As the clinical practice shows, the medicine "Maalox" is well tolerated, has a pleasant taste. Taking the drug does not cause constipation.

Cases of drug overdose are not described.

Reviews about the drug can be found different. Some patients note a high effectiveness in the manifestation of discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract. The drug, they said, can eliminate discomfort very quickly. Some patients did not feel a pronounced effect. Probably, this could be due to the peculiarities of the organism.
