The countries of Latin America. List and brief description of each state

Latin American countries include some countries and territories of the Americas, where they speak Latin languages. They belong mainly to states with a Hispanic population, less to the French-speaking population. The history of the countries of Latin America is interrelated, but all of them, of course, are different in their own way. Next, you can find a brief description of each country.

Natural conditions

Some features of the countries of Latin America are due to their continental position. On the territory of these states, for example, there is the largest river in the world - the Amazon, here is the highest waterfall - Angel. In addition, the Andean mountain chain passes through the states, also the longest in the world. Despite the fact that the development of Latin American countries is relatively slow, these lands are rich in natural resources, such as gases, rare metals and oil. The economic indicators of these territories still remain very mediocre.

Countries in Latin America

The list includes not only recognized states, but also some territories that remain under the control of stronger powers. These countries are Hispanic States located between Mexico and Argentina, as well as some Caribbean States.

Subordinate territories and countries of Latin America

The list presented above gives a brief description of the states. It is worth noting that to Latin America, you can also include some of the territories, although they are not states. For example, Puerto Rico, the island of the Caribbean Sea, which is under partial control of the United States. This also includes several territories that are French colonies and, hence, are administered by France. Among them are Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthelemy, Saint-Martin, and French Guiana. About all these territories it can be said that these are Latin American countries (the list is complete), but they are not officially considered separate states. Although this is not so important.

A look into the future

What problems do the countries of Latin America suffer from? The list can be very long. The most important feature of these states is the underdevelopment of the economy and the lack of attempts to change this situation in any way. In the 21st century, a large part of the population of these countries remains illiterate, what can we say about higher education. The majority of the inhabitants of these countries of the third world are trying, if possible, to go to more developed neighboring states for prospects.

Development

Although there has been a significant growth in the economy over the last century, but the government of most countries still does not pay enough attention to developing the industry, although the potential of some countries is unlimited. First and foremost tourist. Improving the conditions for tourists can attract huge investment flows to the country. In addition, these countries should pay attention to the extraction of minerals, which can significantly raise the standard of living in these countries. However, probably, this will not happen soon.
