Test for color blindness

Of course, many people met people who see not the same as most, some colors. A similar phenomenon in medicine is called color blindness, or simply the inability to determine one or more colors correctly. Color blindness is a partial blindness, expressed in the fact that a person does not see certain colors, most often green, red, yellow and blue.

This disease is congenital, and most often it suffers from males. To identify it, special tests for color blindness were invented, in various ways helping to determine whether a person has this disease, and if so, in which form.

It is more expedient to pass several tests of different complexity at once. Here are some of them.

The easiest and most affordable test for color blindness is an ordinary traffic light. In the event that a person can not distinguish the green traffic signal from red, it is most likely colorblind. In this case, most colorblinders distinguish between red and green traffic light signals by changes in the gradation of the brightness of the color. In addition, they know the location of signals from top to bottom, and therefore, problems usually do not arise, but if you change the location, turning the traffic light, the color-blind man will be much harder to recognize them.

Another simple and fairly reliable test for color blindness is the ability of the test person to distinguish colors used on the flags of the countries of the world. It is difficult to call the colors of flags from memory, if, of course, the tested person does not deal professionally with heraldry. The essence of this test is as follows: several dozen flags are selected at random and each of them is given a verbal arbitrary color description, and after passing the test, the official descriptions and test results are compared. If there are no serious differences, the tested person does not suffer from color blindness.

The most complex professional test for color blindness is the special test patterns offered to the test. Such tests are conducted by specialists and identify, depending on the results obtained, color blindness and its shape with the greatest accuracy.

The most popular analogue of such professional checks is the test for color blindness, developed by the specialist B. Rabkin, which is conducted on special polychromatic tables. Each table represents a large number of colored circles and dots, which are the same in brightness, but differ in color. A person who has normal vision is able to see images of geometric figures, figures and letters on such pictures, whereas for a color-blind person, each picture is represented only by a set of different circles, or the figures are completely different, and not those that are actually depicted.

This test for color blindness can be found online on many different sites, and it gives a fairly complete picture, helping to understand whether a person is colorblind.

However, it should be borne in mind that any check at home (not from a specialist) can not give a 100% result, nor will it determine the form of the disease, so if you suspect something is wrong, you should consult an ophthalmologist.

Do not forget that even if the color blindness test has revealed, do not put a cross on yourself. This disease refers to those diagnoses with which it is possible to live, and to live comfortably. At the same time, most of the time, colorblinds do not even experience any special discomfort from their wrong color perception, adjust themselves to their own disease and have the opportunity to perceive and distinguish the majority of colors adequately by brightness and contrast differences.

True, the presence of color blindness can be a significant obstacle in obtaining a driver's license.
