Tavrida is what?

Tavrida is the old name of the peninsula Crimea. So it was called since the time when these fertile territories were inhabited by a people with a similar name.

There is a beautiful legend about how the Greek god Dionysus harnessed two bulls and plowed the fields of the peninsula, since that time his inhabitants began to be called tavras (from the word "taurus" - bull). In fact, Tavria, Tavrida is the land of bulls and farmers.

A bit of history

The Crimean peninsula has always been a tasty morsel for great states. Tavridu at different times inhabited completely different people: Scythians, Greeks, Sarmatians, Goths and many others. Each nation introduced something special to the appearance and culture of the peninsula.

The change of power at all times was sword and blood. The conquerors succeeded each other with an enviable regularity. Crimea belonged to Greece, Byzantium, Kievan Rus, Polovtsy, was an autonomous Crimean Khanate, part of the Russian Empire and the USSR. A lot of troubles fell on this small but favorably located piece of land. And now Crimea is going through hard times, because not everyone has appreciated the voluntary entrance to Russia.

The Russian Crimea: development prospects

March 16, 2014 - a date of great importance for the Crimeans. This is a kind of point of no return, behind - Ukraine and the European Union, ahead - Russia. The population of the peninsula expressed its will and has been living under Russian tricolor for almost 3 years.

Modern Tauris is a rapidly developing tourism, the construction of new roads, the revival of agriculture, the reconstruction of electricity networks and water supply systems.

The funds allocated by Russia for the needs of the Crimea are striking in the number of zeros. Grandiose projects and talented specialists will soon transform the adjoining lands to the Southern Federal District.

The years of desolation were not in vain, the work on the restoration of the peninsula goes in all directions. The viticulture in Koktebel is actively revived, the shipyard Zaliv is being reconstructed, the uninterrupted power supply of the Crimea from the south of Russia is established.

There are about 300 projects for the development of this or that region in this region, and each of them deserves a separate story.

Federal highway "Tavrida"

The new road will take place in close proximity to such major cities as:

  • Kerch;
  • Theodosius;
  • Belogorsk;
  • Simferopol;
  • Bakhchisaray;
  • Sevastopol.

According to the plan, a high-speed highway will not affect settlements, communicating with them only secondary roads. So, according to the Tavrida project, Yalta and Alushta will have access to this federal highway on the existing trolleybus line.

The projected highway will have access to another sensational object of the Crimean construction - the Kerch bridge, while it will not cross either the railroad part of the crossing or the secondary roads.

On the four lanes of the new freeway there will be a traffic-free mode of traffic, dozens of traffic junctions and other auxiliary structures will be built along the entire length.

Terms of construction

The final version of this ambitious project must be passed by an expert commission by the end of March 2017. Already there are preparatory works on the site, which will connect the Kerch bridge with the main road artery of the Crimea.

After all the approvals, the construction will be carried out in full force, in order to comply with all the time allotted for it. "Narrow" version is planned to be launched in 1.5 years, the end of construction is scheduled for 2020.

Stages of construction

The first stage of the "Tavrida" project implementation will be a two-lane route, completely repeating the route of the new road. Some sites will be subject to reconstruction, others will be erected from scratch. Such a decision was made, since immediately after this it will be possible to quickly put into operation such a grandiose plan as the "Tavrida" highway. The Crimea will receive a modern motorway with a length of 260 km, with a new modern covering and a permissible speed of 140 km / h. This will solve the problems of traffic jams and at times reduce the travel time.

According to the designers, the road "Tavrida" will not require serious repairs and any financial investments for the next 40 years. The newest pavement promises to be much more durable than the materials that were used before.

The second stage of the Tavrida project is the laying of two more lanes. It would seem that it could be called the final, but not all so simple. The load on the first two, built earlier, will be so enormous that by the time the second stage is completed, they may need some repairs, this will be the third stage.

The final touch will be the erection of the necessary infrastructure. Along the route will grow fuel stations, car services, roadside cafes and motels. Throughout the length of the new autobahn will illuminate the lights on the LEDs, the strips are separated by double concrete blocks. The outer fence will represent a metal grid, which will avoid a collision with suddenly run out onto the roadway animals, and also make it impossible to move the track in the wrong places.

Problems associated with the Tavrida project

As always, while carrying out construction work of this scale, designers are faced with discontented local people. This was in Sochi, there are also in the Crimea. Some sections of the new road pass through villages and villages, some houses will inevitably have to be demolished. The owners are promised to pay compensation and give new housing, but how do you explain to people that they need to leave the lands on which their grandfathers and great-grandfathers lived? Their indignation can be understood.

Another problem encountered in the Crimea is the acute shortage of local qualified personnel. Because of this, the money allocated for the preparatory part could not be fully spent on time.

Excessive workflow is not new in our country, he also touched Tavrida. Various reconciliations, amendments, signatures at different levels impede the commencement of construction. Bureaucracy is probably one of the main problems in relation not only to the Crimea, but also to Russia as a whole.

With the commissioning of the federal highway "Tavrida" Crimea will receive high-speed communication with virtually all important settlements of the peninsula. This will promote the development of tourism and greatly facilitate the lives of the Crimeans themselves.
