Sulim Yamadayev - commander of the battalion "Vostok": biography

Yamadayev Sulim Bekmirzaevich was awarded the title of Hero of Russia in 2005. Under his command was the battalion "Vostok", whose activity was the struggle against the separatists. Yamadayev was dismissed in 2008 after a conflict with Ramzan Kadyrov. A year later, Sulim Bekmirzaevich was assassinated. The date of his death raises many doubts and still.

A family

Sulim Yamadayev was born on June 21, 1973 in the Chechen Republic, in the village of Benoy. The brothers are Aslan, Isa and Badrudi, Ruslan and Jabrayil. The last two were killed during the Second Chechen Company. Both are awarded the title of Heroes of Russia.

Childhood, youth

Sulim Bekmirzaevich graduated from high school. He had dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood. And after school he was going to leave for Afghanistan as a volunteer. But at that time the Soviet troops were already withdrawn from there. In 1992 Yamadayev went to Moscow to do business. But this was not his calling, and two years later he returned to Chechnya, where he became a field commander.

In 2004, Sulim Yamadayev entered the Frunze Military Academy, which he graduated in 2007. While studying in 2005, he became a lieutenant colonel of the Russian Army.

The First Chechen War

In the First Chechen War, Yamadayev was originally in the ranks of militants, as was the first president of the Chechen Republic. For a while he was even the commander of intelligence at Khattab. In 1995, Maskhadov appointed Sulim Bekmirzayevich to command the Gudermes front. This happened after the rescue of the detachment of Basayev from the rout in the capital of Chechnya. After the end of the First Chechen War , the Yamadayev brothers controlled Gudermes.

The antivahhabit campaign

Later, Kadyrov's relatives asked for help from the Yamadayev brothers in the anti-Wahhabi campaign. Sulim gathered a hundred people and, before the appearance of federal troops, held back the 5000th militant army.

In 1998, a battalion under the command of Yamadayev and the Shari'ah army collided in Gudermes, which Maskhadov after a while disbanded. And on the sixth of January next year, Sulim Bekmirzaevich was tried to kill. He was in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. Service in Russia

From the very beginning of the Second Chechen War, Sulim Bekmirzayevich Yamadayev and his supporters defended Gudermes from the Wahhabis. When the Russian troops approached, he joined them along with five thousand loyal people. In November 1999 Gudermes was transferred to the hands of the Russian Federation.

Gradually until 2000, all his brothers joined Sulim with his troops, and also went over to the side of the official government of Russia. The formation of a Chechen company of special purpose began, shortly RON.

In 2002, Sulim Bekmirsaevich Was appointed deputy of the commandant of Chechnya - Sergei Kizyun. Since March 2003, Yamadayev is the commander of the Vostok battalion. His fighters in three years killed more than 400 fighters, along with their field commander Abu al-Walid.

Personal life

Sulim Yamadayev was married. At them with the spouse three sons and one daughter were born. Sulim's wife was with him until the last days. Now his wife and children are looked after by Sulim's relatives.

Conflicts in the village of Borozdinovskaya and at the meat-packing plant "Samson"

On July 4, 2005, the father of one of the fighters of the "East" was killed in Borozdinovskaya. In the village sent a detachment to check and find out all the circumstances. After he left back, unknown in the form of the "East" and the masks attacked the residents, burned four houses, killed one person and disappeared without a trace.

The second incomprehensible incident occurred at the meat factory "Samson". The owner of the land on which the enterprise was located appealed to Kadyrov and Yamadayev for help. The question was in the redistribution of property. Yamadayev was dispatched to deal with the situation, in charge of which was the battalion "Vostok". He went to the meat factory with a group of his fighters and held talks with the director of the enterprise Khamzat Arsamakov. But that proposed documents did not sign. A few months later, unknown people kidnapped two of his brothers, who were later found dead.

Conflict with Ramzan Kadyrov

In 2008, because of the road accident, the culprit was a relative of Kadyrov, two soldiers from the battalion "Vostok" were killed. The next day Yamadayev and Kadyrov, having met on the road, quarreled. As a result, many power units were collected, which besieged the Gudermes base of the "East". Kadyrov ordered the battalion fighters to transfer to his direct leadership.

From this time the confrontation of the latter with Sulim began. The next day, the commander of the battalion "Vostok" Yamadayev was accused of kidnapping and killing civilians. In response, he accused Kadyrov of similar crimes. As a result, Yamadayev was removed from the command of the "East" and declared a federal wanted list.

On August 21, 2008, his location was established. Yamadayev was fired from the army, but left him the rank of lieutenant-colonel in reserve.

Dubai

In November 2008, Yamadayev told journalists in an interview about a quarrel with Kadyrov. And I was sure that a liquidation group had left Chechnya. Sulim Yamadaev feared for his life. As a result, criminal cases against him were transferred from Chechnya to the military prosecutor's office of Russia. And this made it impossible to shoot at the time of detention. Yamadayev immediately left for the United Arab Emirates and settled in Dubai. He did not change his name, despite rumors.

Sulim Yamadayev: the whole truth about his death

The murder of Sulim Yamadayev is still a mystery. The attack on him was committed in the underground garage on March 28, 2009. He was shot. On the scene came the chief of police in Dubai. He officially confirmed the death of Yamadayev. The same was asserted by the Russian consul. Ziyad Sapsabi, a member of the Federation Council, confirmed that Sulima was buried on March 30 at the cemetery of Dubai in Al-Kuz.

But Isa, his brother, announced that Yamadayev was only severely wounded and in hospital. And has already come to consciousness. The police detained several suspects in the attack, but after a while they were released.

On April 5, 2009, the Chief of Police of Dubai announced the names of the detainees and wanted to be searched through Interpol. Among them was the Russian deputy Adam Delimkhanov. It was interesting that he is a cousin of Ramzan Kadyrov. And, as the police said, Delimkhanov's guard handed the gun to the killer. He, in turn, considered this an obvious provocation and was going to cooperate with the investigation. But he did not leave Chechnya, moving with heavy security.

Lavrov interfered in the matter, being the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He demanded all materials and facts on the assassination of Yamadayev. On the fourth of May, Isa (Yamadayev's brother) reported that Sulim is on the mend and already began to talk. But the wound was not in the back, but in the neck. As the Sulim family explained, he is in a hospital in Dubai, but soon, as soon as he gets better, he will return to Russia.

The press doubted that Sulim Yamadayev was alive. As evidence, Isa took a photograph of his brother in the hospital and showed it on April thirteenth. He claimed that Sulim was still being treated. But on July 16, the Dubai authorities finally confirmed that Yamadayev died during the assassination attempt on March 28, 2009. A little later, on the twenty-third of August 2010, Isa informed everyone that his brother had been disconnected from the life-support system by a family decision.

They say it was done, because Sulim Bekmirzayevich Yamadayev did not come to consciousness and was in a coma. Then it does not reconcile with the previous version of the family that he is recovering. Especially in one of the media interviews, Isa said that he communicates with his brother through Skype.

Official documents from Dubai were sent to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, confirming the death of Sulim Yamadayev. They were attended with a protocol from the scene, genetic and forensic medical examination. All documents were translated into Russian. And, as expected, notarized.

In the forensic medical examination it was stated that Sulima Yamadayev was shot six times: in the body and in the head. And four bullets were fatal. Experts took the DNA of Sulim's younger brother to confirm the identity of the deceased. The morgue worker assured that the body was given to his relatives and was buried in the 93th row of the cemetery in the grave number sixteen.

The murder of Sulim Yamadayev was accused of Tajiks Maksudzhon Ismatov and Iranian Mahdi Lornia. Both accused were sentenced to life imprisonment in the United Arab Emirates.
