Showing the beauty of his native city Vladimir Kachanov

The city of great opportunities, surprising with luxury and scope, can not be called cozy. In a dynamically developing megapolis, very little is left of the old Moscow, as whole chambers of century-old trees are being cut down in the pursuit of profit, and business centers are directed to the sky, and residents are moved to faceless sleeping areas. People, whose soul hurts for their native city, believe that it is impossible to demolish areas simply because they are worthy of protection, at least out of respect for the memory of their ancestors.

The pessimistic-minded residents include the native Muscovite, who has been painting the landscapes of the capital for more than 40 years. He carefully keeps all his sketches made in the open air, and it so happened that his works have now become historical documents. Unfortunately, there is no longer that Moscow which Vladimir Kachanov saw and drew.

Etudes that captured the beauty of Moscow

The artist, born in 1945, reverently treats his beloved city, leaving "in the past." He realizes that every year a modern metropolis is changing, but no one is engaged in its protection. All that can please now are memories, sketches and sketches made many years ago.

Lyric-minded artist Vladimir Kachanov looks with genuine sadness at the ongoing architectural apocalypse and does not see any beauty in the glass skyscrapers that fill Moscow. A man with a rare attitude to life is most often exhibited abroad, and his last works could be seen in Moscow in 1994.

Exhibition dedicated to the beloved city

And only six years ago all lovers of the master's work were able to enjoy his atmospheric works, in which the face of the capital is changing. "The artist's goal is to see the beauty of his native city and show it to people," says Vladimir Kachanov.

"Moscow is leaving" is an exhibition that was held at the end of 2010 in Moscow and gathered a huge number of spectators who highly appreciated the skill boundlessly in love with the capital of the creator. In his works, time flows according to his own laws: there people live, so similar to those who walk and now through the streets of the city, but they belong to a completely different era. Not fully aware of their happiness, not seeing the elusive beauty, which will never happen again, the city's residents are lost in the lovely alleys that have now turned into stone jungles devoid of soul.

Each sketch is an artifact of a bygone era

Vladimir Kachanov, referring to the memory, which creates a unique image of the native corner, in every sketch captures the mood, inspired by the glow of sunlight, quietly falling first snowflakes or giving freshness torrential rains. He feels himself a true chronicler, thoroughly describing everything that his inquisitive eye sees, and sketches belong not only to art, but also to history.

Each work turns magically into a document, a kind of evidence of the era, as the canvas depicts a non-existent capital that has gone forever. His picturesque observations for forty years formed the basis of a project called "Moscow that does not exist." Over time, traces of architectural monuments are erased, in place of alleys, for which once indifferent inhabitants fought, skyscrapers grew, and picturesque boulevards turned into pedestrian paths. So the memories go away when the evidence of the past disappears, and the author's lyrical sketches, made in the 60s, turn into real artifacts.

Album that collected all the artist's works

For the confrontation of Moscow with the modern and old for many years watching nostalgic Vladimir Kachanov, who released all his sketches, looking like a single whole, in the album "Moscow is leaving. Boulevards. " This is the author's journey through ancient streets that do not change for the better. Sketches revealing the originality of the capital, show the modern inhabitants of the metropolis that they have irretrievably lost.

Unfortunately, this is Moscow, which is no more, and Vladimir Kachanov hopes that the authorities will urgently take care of protecting colorful and original streets, otherwise it will be too late.

As before, he continues to draw from nature, which is still there.
