People's Artist of Russia Vasily Livanov recalled how unexpectedly he fell out to become the voice of Carlson drawn: the director, who wanted to make the image of the hero expressive and dynamic, could not find an actor for this role. Tried for her were the real lightsabers of the then scene - Alexei Gribov, Mikhail Yanshin, but there was no exact hit in the image. Livanov, who worked in a neighboring studio, accidentally saw the sketches of personnel and caught the similarity between the painted man with the motor and the good-natured director Grigoriy Roshal. The actor tried to parody Roshal in the image of Carlson and got into the top ten. Even Astrid Lindgren liked the voice, who during her visit to the USSR asked to introduce her to the one who voiced Carlson in the cartoon.
