How Windows 7 Authentication Works: Information That Is Useful

Microsoft has revised its testing methodology for all operating system distributions. The new tool will perform verification based on signature checks. Now that you have downloaded the update, Windows 7 authentication will automatically occur. And if you are a "lucky" owner of a pirated copy, you, unfortunately, can no longer work with this operating system.

The new tool should complement the traditional activation procedure, which uses license keys. Similar to the principle of antivirus software, monitoring will also look for clusters that are associated with changes in the operating system. After all, they are responsible for pirate interference in the system. It turns out that Windows 7 authentication will now be much tougher. Disconnect her craftsmen, of course, can, but now will have to sweat a lot longer.

After all, until this time, even in spite of the fact that the company Microsoft significantly complicated the existing algorithm that generates keys for its operating system, hackers were able to bypass the verification mechanism. They made Windos assume that the latter is a pre-installed, pre-activated OEM copy. Now, the authentication of Windows 7 will be somewhat different. All system changes will be checked (even registry entries, licensing subsystem), as well as boot sector information. To realize this, the company for some time studied the most common pirated versions of its system. This was done in order to find out which areas should be inspected. At the time when the authentication of Windows 7 was changed, about seventy wanted signatures were submitted in the database.

For this purpose, a special system update was released (for all versions except the initial and basic versions). Owners of the latter have nothing to worry about. Since these releases are in themselves functionally limited and practically not subject to counterfeits, the developers were not particularly worried about their fate. Also, updates will not affect corporate users.

The actual authentication of Windows 7 is quite transparent. The system will download and install the required update, after which the signature will be searched. If no violations are detected, the software stops its activity and does not manifest itself for three months. As soon as this time expires, the signature database must be updated. After that, a second check will be carried out.

If Windows 7 authentication finds that your copy is pirated, the operating system will immediately be moved to inactive mode. The main features: black wallpaper of your desktop, as well as a warning and information message. The functionality of the entire system should not be disturbed.

One consolation is that no one will force you to install the "Windows 7 authentication" update. And there is almost no risk of misidentification of an unlicensed copy (as the developers assure). Note also that Windows 7 authentication, which can be disabled, can be with certain skills and circumvented. But that's another story!
