History of creation

Without Leonardo's ninja turtle, it's hard to imagine the entire heroic team. He is the link between the three brothers, arranges them. The only one with whom Leo does not really get along is Rafael.

Comics about ninja turtles were created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman in the 80's. Initially, they wanted to call a turtle with Katanas Donatello. But then Laird developed a hero in a purple bandage with a battle stick, and a turtle with two swords was decided to call Leonardo.

In the first issues of the comics Mirage Studios Leo is responsible for the team of ninjas before the master Splinter, but when the teacher is not around, Rafael takes precedence. A little later, Leonardo nevertheless with his dedication and concentration proves that he manages to manage better than the quick-tempered Raphael.

In the 90s, the publishing house Image Comics bought the rights to publish painted stories with mutant turtles. In the editions of this magazine, Leo becomes more cruel in combat and tough in decision-making. But behind it is still the priority in matters of leadership, justice and strategy.

Character of the character

A peculiar character manifests itself in every turtle-ninja. Leonardo is the most calm and balanced of the whole team. It's hard to get mad, make you nervous. Leo always makes decisions quickly and confidently. Especially he manages to develop strategies and tactics of combat.

Among other things, Leo is well-mannered. He maintains communication and understanding between Sensei Splinter and other mutants. Leo prefers to spend his free time not for looking at comics, like Mikey, but for training. Sometimes Leo even meditates.

Like any leader, a turtle in a blue bandage exacerbated a sense of justice and responsibility. When something goes wrong or with the brothers something happens, Leonardo always blames only himself.

After the release of the cartoon in 2003, Leo began to draw with a chipped shell, because in one of the battles, he badly damaged him. Sometimes Leonardo strongly conflicts with Raf because of the aggressive methods of the latter's work.

Appearances on the screen

In 1987, the first appeared on the television turtle-ninja. Leonardo in the cartoon of the late 80's is represented by an impeccable leader, who requires other tortoises daily daily training. It's because Leo is just obsessed with destroying Shredder. He understands that for this it is necessary to give all the members of the team as much as possible.

Also in the cartoon there is something in Leo's personal life: in one of the series he meets a mutant girl named Lotus, and they begin a novel.

In the cartoon film of 2003 Leo appears before the viewer very much silent and secretive. He meditates for hours in solitude, but what remains unchanged is the desire to destroy the Shredder, and preferably forever. In the series there is such a time when an alternative reality is shown. In this reality, Leo dies during a fight with Shredder.

In 2014, the film company Paramount Pictures filmed the latest version of the story of mutant turtle. In this adaptation Leo played Pete Pložek. He still remains a fearless leader, but in the frame there are many more skirmishes between Raf and his brother in a blue bandage.

The picture aroused great interest among the public: at the box office, the tape raised almost $ 500 million. In this film, unlike previous versions, computer special effects are widely used. On the role of April O'Neill was invited scandalous Megan Fox.

Recently, the release of the next picture about the adventures of mutants was announced: its premiere will take place in 2016.
