Return of Genghis Khan to Mongolia

Having made a devastating raid in Khorasan and Afghanistan in 1221 -1222. And having stayed in Central Asia until 1224, Genghis Khan returned to Mongolia in 1225.

In 1226, Genghis Khan marched against the Tangut state of Xi Xia, who earlier refused to fulfill the obligation as a vassal to deploy troops to participate in the war against Khorezmshah. In 1235, at the Khan's court, the great Khurultai was held, at which decisions were taken to send Batu (Batyi Russian chronicles) and other princes to conquer Eastern Europe, and to conquer Korea and the state of the Southern Sun (1127-1279).

The grandson of Genghis Khan Khulagu Khan completed the conquest of Iran (most of the country and the state of the Transcaucasus were subordinated to the Mongols in the 20s and 30s of the 13th century) and in 1256 founded the Ilkhan Khulaguid state there (1256-1353).
