A printer connected to a computer has long ceased to be a curiosity accessible only to very wealthy people or large companies. Now his purchase will not hit the budget even the most poor family.
It would seem: this is the time when you can fully enjoy the fruits of progress, however ... Sometimes you have to understand why the printer does not print. The reasons can be very different: from the simplest, which can be eliminated in a couple of minutes, to the most complex, in which the restoration of the device is possible only in the service center. In this article, we will answer the question of what to do if the printer does not print an inkjet type.

Paper

All modern models are equipped with a paper feed system. Now it's enough to put a bundle of A4 sheets in a special tray, and the printer will take them one by one at a time. However, not everyone knows that if you do not print the printer, then you need to check this particular node. The fact is that a special sensor is installed in the sheet feeding system, which determines whether the tray is full or empty. In most models it is electromechanical, so it is not too reliable. Thus, if, for example, the Canon printer does not print and the empty tray lamp flashes on the panel (although there are sheets there), then you need to take a pack of 20-80 A4 and place it in the tray, and then extract it. So it needs to be done several times. Usually this is enough. Our advice: the tray must always be full. Avoid working with 1-5 sheets in it.

Locks

Some users, after trying to install the ink supply system themselves in the cartridges, face the fact that they do not print the printer: everything seems to be assembled correctly, but the printing does not go. Often this happens due to the displacement of the head unit in the off state of the printing device, because of which the carriage positioning fails. In this case, you need to disconnect the printer from the mains, and after a minute, turn it back on. If you have a reset button on the device panel, you need to use it. Do not forget that if the cover of the case is not closed tightly, the printer will not print.

Prudent manufacturers

The popularity of inkjet printers is largely explained by the possibility of self-refilling ink cartridges, which significantly reduces the cost of prints. However, if earlier manufacturers struggled with this recommendation and the rejection of warranty service, arguing that third-party paints can damage the nozzle heads, now a more sophisticated solution is being used. For example, if you do not print an Epson printer, and the cartridge has been refilled recently, you should know that a special chip is installed on the ink tanks to track the amount of ink consumed. Obviously, if the flow meter is much larger than the capacity of the cartridge, it means that the refilling has been performed and the seal is blocked. In some models, the counter in the chip can be reset / frozen by software. A more fundamental solution is to replace the chip with a reprogrammed one. The operation is paid, however, at high volumes of printing it quickly pays off. Without it, working with CISS in some models is not possible.

Contacts

Transmission of signals to the heads is carried out by means of copper pads-contacts. Gradually they are oxidized, which can lead to increased resistance and suppression of signals. The grounds need to be gently wiped with a stationery eraser.
