Removing paint and other methods of cleaning the surface of the car

Thanks to the coloring, the car acquires not only a beautiful appearance, but also receives protection from corrosion. Still, this method of cleaning with a flame is very laborious. It is difficult, and sometimes impossible, to use when repairing a car to remove old paint from the skin, as well as plastic parts, since these elements can be damaged.

The best way is to wash the paint or a chemical method using a variety of pastes, solvents. As a result, you save time and labor with low material costs. Removal of old layers by means of washing is a process of chemical action on the surface of the car, while swelling and dissolution of the paint occurs. Alkaline washes and paint thinner are used for this method.

In the repair shops, alkali is mainly used to remove the old layers from the metal surfaces of car parts and assemblies. Flushing paint is done by immersing the car's elements in a container filled with caustic soda solution, heated to a temperature of + 60-70 degrees. Remove the old paint from the body of a car can be by applying a 30% solution of caustic soda brush. After 12 hours the paint is destroyed and easily washed off with warm water. However, to remove many layers, this procedure must be repeated several times. This method requires a large consumption of soda.

More efficiently, the paint is washed out by means of pastes, which are weak alkali solutions, mixed up to a viscous state together with mineral and organic substances.

The paste is applied three times to the surface with a brush, doing a two-hour exposure after each application, and then washing it off with a water jet from the hose. Paste helps to "lift" oil and nitrocellulose varnishes, enamels and paints.

Flushing of the paint is also carried out with the help of various liquid and pasty solvents based on organic substances. After applying the solution, the softened layers are removed with a spatula.
