It is fixed between the sprocket of the pulley and the shaft. Remove the shoe between the intake pipes of the engine. From the cable of the threaded end, the gland is shifted and the cable fixing nut is unscrewed. Remove the element from the bracket, which is attached to the intake pipe of the engine. For best effect, you must move it back. The holder of the cable of the gas pedal (if it is a VAZ car or "GAZelle") is bent and the element gets to the outside. Also remove all the wires from the generator, take out the connector plug from the RXX (idle speed regulator). Dismantling the unit

  • Remove the camshaft. If the motor is 16-valve, 2 shafts are extracted.

  • The thermostat assembly is removed.
  • Unscrew bolts securing the cylinder head together with washers.
  • The head is removed together with the gasket.

Assembly

It remains only to install a new gasket and collect everything in place. Please note that before installation, it is smeared with a red silicone sealant. To do this, you must place the ruler along the element, and with the probes measure the gap between both planes. If it is at least 0.2 mm, the head must be replaced. Observe the order of tightening the bolts (crosswise). A torque wrench is required . At the first stage, the tightening force is 39-61 N · m. After 2 hours, the second stage is produced. The tightening force in this case is from 130 to 140 Nm.

Final stage
