History of the Institute

At the end of the last century, in the city of Orel, on the basis of the existing state university, a branch of the Kursk Medical University was opened. A year after the opening, it was decided to transform the established educational institution into a medical institute at the Oryol State University. The doors for the first students were opened in 1998. Their release took place in 2004. Out of the walls of the structural unit there were 32 doctors. For example, the specialty "Pediatrics" appeared in 2003, and "Pharmacy" was opened in 2004.

Specialty "Medical business"

This direction of training at the medical university is the leading one. First, it appeared at the time of the establishment of the educational institution. Secondly, it is considered prestigious, because after graduation students become general practitioners. Later, after continuing their studies, they receive specialization in a certain area of knowledge. They build a future career as the main doctors, therapists, obstetrician-gynecologists, laboratory diagnostics doctors, anesthesiologists-resuscitators, orthopedic traumatologists, psychiatrists-narcologists, etc.
