One-time payments for a child at birth

The birth of a child entails the joyous efforts of motherhood, as well as an increase in the costs of the family. The state provides for payments to the child due to his birth. There are two main types of payments - a lump sum and a monthly allowance for a child up to a year and a half. We will consider the first kind.

Lump sum payment

Guided by the Federal Law adopted on May 19, 1995, No. 81-FZ, a young mother has the right to expect a lump-sum allowance at the time of the birth of the child. Payments for the child at the same time amount to 12,405 rubles in 2012. The same amount that is payable in the case of the transfer of the baby to the upbringing. In 2011, the benefit amounted to 11,703 rubles. If two or more children are born, then payments for the child are made for each birth. This benefit is accrued with the help of the Social Insurance Fund of Russia.

Separately, federal payments for the birth of a child can be supplemented by accruals carried out at the local level of the subjects of the Federation. For example, for mothers living in the capital, the Resolution of the Moscow Government provides for compensation from the Moscow budget funds. In 2012, there was no indexation of the allowance for the Moscow region, the size of the allowance remained at the level of the previous year.

All the necessary information regarding the collection and provision of the package required for the appointment and transfer of documents is available at the local social protection office.
