Oleg Kozhemyako is an experienced manager

The current governor of the Sakhalin region Oleg Kozhemyako is a man with a rich biography. He comes from Chernigovka, which is located in Primorsky Krai. After graduating from high school, he entered the Khabarovsk editing technical school, and ten years after his graduation, in 1992, he became a student at the Far Eastern Commercial Institute. Like other citizens of the Soviet Union, Oleg Kozhemyako served two years in the ranks of the armed forces.

Business on fish

In the early 90s of the last century, the ex-governor of the Amur region actively engaged in entrepreneurial activities, opening a cooperative "Primorsky", which then was transformed into a large production structure.

At the end of the 1990s, Oleg Kozhemyako became interested in the fish business, heading the board of directors of the well-known enterprise Transfiguration of the Trawling Fleet, whose financial condition in those years left much to be desired. However, Oleg Kozhemyako managed to get the company out of the crisis. He was also the owner of the distillery "Argo-1" and was engaged in the production of vodka, which he called "Nikita Kozhemyaka."

The Conquest of the Political Olympus

In 2001, a seaside businessman decided to try himself in the political arena. He becomes the parliamentarian of the local legislative body, as well as a member of the Duma committee, which oversees the issues of food policy and nature management in the region. A year later, Oleg Kozhemyako became a representative in the upper house of the Russian parliament from Primorye. It should be noted that representatives of the local administration headed by Sergei Darkin were against this appointment, but the owner of the "Argo-1" distillery was helped by lobbyists from the team of ex-governor Yevgeny Nazdratenko.

In September 2004, he announced his resignation as senator and became the right-hand man of Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov.

Appointment to office

At the end of 2004, Oleg Nikolaevich Kozhemyako took the third position in the governor's election of the Kamchatka region, having secured only 14% of the vote.

In January 2005, a politician from the Primorye Territory received the post of vice-governor of the Koryagsky Autonomous Okrug (KAO), engaged in supervising the "Northern deliveries". Two months later, the head of the KAO, Vladimir Loginov, resigned from his post, and in April 2005 Oleg Kozhemyako was appointed in his place. However, the seaside businessman will work in this status for only two years, since after the unification of Kamchatka and Koryakia he will resign his powers. However, the political career of Oleg Nikolayevich had a brilliant continuation - he was offered a job as an assistant to the head of the presidential administration.

New post

Already in autumn 2008, Oleg Kozhemyako is governor. This time he was entrusted to the Amur Region. Noteworthy is the fact that in 2012 he won the gubernatorial elections, and again took the post of head of the Blagoveshchensk administration.

It should be noted that Oleg Kozhemyako (Governor of the Amur Region) has done a lot of useful work for the region. Everyone knows that the above-mentioned subject of the Russian Federation is a "donor", and with huge debts. Despite such serious problems, the seaside businessman managed not to aggravate the situation: he even managed to implement some investment projects. In particular, agreements were concluded with Gazprom on increasing regional investments. Do not forget that the Amur Region is implementing a grandiose project called the "Vostochny Cosmodrome," and although Oleg Nikolaevich's merit in this matter is minimal, the attention of the federal authorities to the state of affairs in the region has intensified. Anyway, but according to the latest ratings, the Amur region firmly took the position of the region with high economic stability.

Noteworthy is the fact that Kozhemyako ranked 17th in the effectiveness rating of governors, which, of course, is a good indicator.

Another appointment

Since recently, Oleg Kozhemyako was appointed to the post of head of the Sakhalin region. This can be considered an increase in the political career.

Sakhalin, of course, is not as densely populated as the Amur Region, but it has a fairly strong economy. For information, in the year before last the GRP of the island amounted to just over 670 billion rubles, while the Amur indicator was at the level of 211 billion rubles.

In any case, Kozhemyako needs to do a lot for the prosperity of the region entrusted to him. First of all, it is necessary to develop the oil and gas industry more actively, to invest money in the fish industry. In addition, it is necessary to make attempts to settle with Japan the question of its territorial claims to some Russian islands. The region needs serious investments.

In addition, it is important to restore order in the affairs of the predecessor of Kozhemyako - Alexander Khoroshavin, who is currently in remand prison.
