Narrative sentence in Russian

The Russian language is a complicated, multifaceted, multi-structural phenomenon. Each section of linguistics studies a separate section of the language, using a scientific system approach. The study of the sentence as the main language unit is concerned with the syntax.

The proposal in the Russian language is characterized by a number of features. By the number of grammatical bases it can be simple and complex. By the presence of predicative units it is considered complete (there is both a subject and a predicate) and incomplete (one of the main terms of the sentence is omitted, but easily restored from the context of the sentence). In composition, a simple sentence can be two-part (both main terms of the sentence are present) and one-part (in the presence of only the subject or only the predicate). One-sentence sentences, in turn, are divided into names (the main member is a subject) and verbal - definite-personal, indefinite-personal, generalized-personal and impersonal (with one main term - the predicate).

By the purpose of the utterance it is customary to distinguish between a narrative sentence, an interrogative, an incentive.

A narrative sentence is a sentence, Which includes a message about someone or something: about a fact, an event, a phenomenon, an object or a living being, for example: "Outside the window today, the sun so rare in the latitudes has been shining all day." This message may be negative or affirmative: "How long we did not expect the father, today he did not come

In oral speech, this is conveyed by special shades of narrative intonation - on the key word or word combination the tone rises, the most significant fragment is logically selected, then the tone goes down to quiet, followed by the intonation of the end of the sentence.

  • Simple: "Mom came home from work";

Suggestions for intonation in Russian are exclamatory, i.e. Emotionally colored and non-excitatory - emotionally neutral: Oh, how wonderful it is in the summer in the forest! The sun gently croaks, the birds are singing about something, the midwife is bustling about in the grass.

Unsuscusable sentences do not express emotions - anger, joy, anger, despair, etc. In their content they are either narrative or interrogative: A hungry puppy sadly walked along a dark street; Can you tell me what time it is?

Exclamatory sentences express the widest range of emotions - joy, anger, surprise, amazement, etc. In oral speech, the exclamation is expressed by a special intonation, an increase in tone. In writing - with the exclamation mark.

In addition to intonation, the exclamation can be expressed by such service parts of speech as interjections and particles: what, oh, well, well, and that for the others:

ABOUT! How glad I am to see you!

What a delight this snow!

Well, I thought of you as a joke!

Hey! The hosts, the gate open!
