Motherland Summer - Russian festival of young and gifted

Every summer in Russia there is a huge number of music and art festivals of different directions. Against this background, profitable non-commercial projects differ, taking place without the involvement of major stars and famous musicians. For example, the young capital music festival Motherland Summer. What kind of event is it and who will it be interested in?

The concept of the festival

For several years the youngest and little known, but from this no less than talented and interesting collectives gather in the open areas of the capital in order to share their creativity with others. Motherland Summer is an event for which solo performers of different genres are allowed as members of the group. Preference is given to alternative directions and musicians who have already achieved certain success and fame. The festival is attended by performers, whose music has found many fans in the Internet space. But all kinds of winners of competitions and graduates of TV projects, promising to become stars of the first magnitude, viewers on this stage will not see.

Motherland Summer Story

The event is quite young, but has been successfully organized for several years in a row. By tradition, the festival is held in the middle of summer. In 2013, six concerts were held at once, each weekend. Accordingly, the event stretched from June 22 to August 31. The standard format of the festival is a concert held 1-2 days a weekend. The venue for the events in 2013 was the open site of the art factory "Flacon". Of the participants the following groups were most distinguished: On-The-Go, "Lemonday", Coockoo and SonicDeath. But the next year Motherland Summer-2014 in the "Bottle" did not hold. The place was chosen until the last moment, and, to everyone's surprise, the concert was held in the "Museon" Art Park. The venue has not changed in 2015, it is quite possible that the festival has finally acquired its permanent "residence permit".

Genres and Artists

Motherland Summer are concerts, to which little-known alternative musicians are invited. During the festival you can listen to a variety of music: indie rock, post-punk, electric. For the whole history of the event, such groups as "The Two of Two", The Retuses, SonicDeath, Motorama and many others took part in it, which have become incredibly popular today. The participants of the festivals are elected by open voting among the spectators and by the decision of the members of the competent jury of the selection committee. There are no restrictions on musical genres and other conditions. The festival is all-Russian, on its stage annually perform domestic musicians. Many of them play in very unusual genres, and quite often you can hear English songs from the stage.

Additional Entertainment

The Motherland Summer Festival is an excellent way to organize leisure activities on weekends. The event is designed for guests over 16 years of age. Children and teenagers who have not reached this age can attend the concert accompanied by adults. During the festival you can not only listen to music, but also participate in a variety of master classes, visit a handicraft fair and a flea market where rare vinyl and other music related products are sold. Available for guests to playgrounds for sports and board games. Also during the concert, a fast food cafe, including author's cuisine of different nations of the world, was opened. Attention: the festival promotes a healthy lifestyle, the use of alcohol on its territory and smoking outside the designated areas are prohibited. Motherland Summer will leave an exceptionally pleasant impression and will become one of the most memorable events of the summer. What is especially nice, the entrance to the event is free, but the organizers throughout the year accept voluntary donations for the development of the project.
