Mark Naumovich was born in the small town of Nezhin, which is located in Ukraine, in the Chernigov region. Date of birth - October 8, 1911. The real name is Naumov. The family of Mark Bernes did not differ almost from anything from most of the families of the time. Dad - an employee in the organization engaged in collection of recycling, mom - an ordinary housewife.

The biography of Mark Bernes is quite diverse and rich. When the future artist was five years old, the family went to live in Kharkov. A year later, despite the ban on inviting the actor to the films, Mark Naumovich played a role in the film "The Devil's Dozen." He appeared on the screen only for a short period of time.

The next years of life are connected with a great and fruitful work. At the same time, the actor began to give many concerts not only in his native country, but also abroad. During the tour, Bernes was able to earn a lot of flattering statements from the media. Then he was able to get into one of the English broadcasts.

The repertoire was supplemented by many songs that later became cult songs. In 1968, the film "Shield and Sword" was released, consisting of four series. The background of the picture was the song of Burns "Where does the homeland begin," which remains recognizable so far.

The last recorded song was "Cranes" on July 8, 1969.

The cause of the death of Mark Burns was lung cancer. A terrible diagnosis was established a few months before his death. And at first the doctors thought that the actor had infectious radiculitis. Only in-depth studies could show inoperable cancer. Even then, Bernes was doomed. The artist died on August 16, 1969. The burial place was Novodevichye cemetery. Shortly before his departure from life, Bernes asked that at his funeral four songs from his repertoire sounded. The artist's request was fulfilled. A few days after his death, a decree was issued giving Bernes the title of People's Artist of the Soviet Union, but he could not be posthumously awarded.

In his life, the artist was married twice. The first wife is Polina Linetskaya. In the marriage they had a daughter, Natasha. Cancer was the cause of the death of the first wife of Marc Bernes.
