Lezghinsky Theater: history, repertoire, projects

The Lezghin Drama Theater has existed for more than one hundred years. His repertoire includes performances based on national works.

History of the theater

The Lezgin Theater opened its doors in 1906. He began his career in a village called Akhty. The theater was founded by Idris Shamkhalov. Originally it was an amateur drama circle. As actors acted workers, exclusively men.

Soon the theater moved to Surukhan. The performances of the troupe played mainly in the Azerbaijani language. The repertoire consisted of staging plays by the playwrights of the republic.

During this period, the Lezghin Theater worked in Surukhan in the autumn and winter, and in summer and spring performed in Akhtakh. The troupe now consisted not only of men, but also of women.

After the Soviet power was established, the drama circle received the status of a theater.

In 1927 a building was built for him.

In 1935 the theater began to be called the Lezgin Drama Theater. In 1938 he was given the name of S. Stalsky (Dagestan poet). In 1949 the troupe was transferred to Derbent.

Since 1997, this temple of art has a new name - the Lezghin Music and Drama Theater named after Suleiman Stalsky.

The collective considers its main task to be the preservation of friendship between different nations, the revival of the culture of its people, the deepening of the knowledge of the native language, the study of customs.

The director of the Lezgin Theater today is Alibeg Shidibegovich Musaev.

The troupe actively cooperates with educational institutions. In addition to performances, artists show concerts, hold talks, conferences, festivals, lectures, meetings.

Repertoire

The repertoire of the theater is not too big. Almost all the productions were created according to the works of the Dagestani authors.

Troupe

The Lezghin Theater gathered on its stage a small but talented troupe.

It is based on experienced craftsmen:

  • Elmira Karakhanova.
  • Valery Suleymanov.
  • Farizat Zeynalov.

Elmira Karakhanova plays in almost all theater performances. She is deeply rooted in her roles, she is sincere and precise. Her characters for a long time to remember the viewer. She bribes the audience with her artistry and beautiful voice.

Valery Suleymanova is called by right the lord of the scene. He is very emotional, knows how to accurately characterize the character. V. Suleimanov perfectly comedic roles. Many spectators call him "Lezgin Arkady Raikin."

Farizat Zeynalova has a pleasant voice, imagination, performing originality and the ability to create unforgettable images of his characters. In most performances, the actress plays the main roles. Thanks to her charm, even the negative characters in her performance always cause only sympathy.

Projects

The Lezghinsky Theater is an organizer, as well as a participant in several projects. One of them is Days of Dagestan Culture in Azerbaijan. Pass such events every year. Their program includes concerts and theater performances. Azerbaijani spectators always look forward to meeting with the Lezghin troupe.

Another festival - "Culture - the art of peace." It takes place in Derbent every year. The festival aims to raise the cultural level of the population and popularize art. His program is full of activities. The festival annually gives the audience a lot of new impressions and discoveries. In its framework there are performances of various theaters, concerts, exhibitions, solemn opening and closing ceremonies.

The project "We are Together Against Terror" is an action dedicated to the memory of those who died at the hands of terrorists. Its main goal is to express its indignation and contempt for evil spirits, called "terror." Before the beginning of the action, a minute of silence is announced in memory of the victims. After that, balloons are released into the sky as a symbol of the peaceful sky. The action calls everyone to the fact that the whole world today must unite in order to stop bloody madness together, shoulder to shoulder, and to the fact that it is necessary to educate the younger generation peace-loving and friendly.

And also important are such projects: "Culture for the children of Dagestan", "Evenings of poetry", "Music of the world against terror", "Spring Festival" Yaran Suvar "and others.
