Lactation: love in every drop!

The lactation period is the time when the woman produces breast milk. Usually this occurs immediately after birth and continues until the mother feeds the baby with the breast. Many mothers are worried about whether their normal lactation will improve. After all, everyone knows that breast milk is the most useful for a baby, so lactation is an important period in the life of both mother and child, allowing you to give maximum health and affinity to a little man.

To ensure that the lactation period lasts as long as possible and does not cause problems or inconveniences, it is necessary to observe some fairly simple rules.

Positive attitude

Even before the birth of a toddler, a woman should be determined that she will breastfeed her baby. Do not think that something can fail, because breastfeeding is a natural process, provided by God himself. Immediately after the birth of the child, attach it to the chest, if for this there are no medical contraindications. In fact, the percentage of women who are not allowed to put the baby to the breast after birth, because of serious medical problems, is very small. The desire to breastfeed helps to establish and install lactation more quickly.

Complete rest and proper nutrition

During lactation it is very important to have a rest and eat properly. It is proved that stress and fatigue reduce the amount of milk production. Proper nutrition will help to provide the baby with all the necessary vitamins and nutrients, and also to strengthen the health of the nursing mother. Diet during lactation is not needed, just need to adhere to the rules of healthy eating. At first (the first two to three months), foods that increase gas production in the intestine should be avoided, since this can lead to colic in the child. More vegetables, fruits, be sure to eat meat, dairy products, cottage cheese and fish. Avoid roast, smoked, canned long-term storage and semi-finished products. After all, harmful substances, as well as useful substances, enter the body of a child with breast milk.

Breast Care

During lactation, the female breast needs special care. A contrast shower will make the skin of the breast more elastic, and a gentle massage clockwise will increase blood circulation. Before each feeding the breast should be washed with warm water and soak with a clean towel. If you have a lot of milk, and it remains after the baby eats, then it must be decanted. So you avoid lactostasis (stagnant milk in your chest) and an unpleasant feeling of overflow. Frequent application of the baby to the breast cancels the decanting rule. During lactation, wear a comfortable supporting bra so that the mammary gland does not hang. Make sure that the bodice is not too tight or too loose.

Feeding regime

The first month after birth, put the baby to the breast as often as possible to establish a stable lactation. In the future, use the method of free feeding, that is, feeding the baby on demand. Give your chest when you know that the baby is hungry, trying to keep the interval between the feedings for at least 2 hours. Too often putting the baby to the breast exhausts the mother and deprives her of proper rest and communication with other family members. If a child cries, because he is bored or he wants caresses, take him in his arms, sing a song, play. Breasts should be associated with a baby not with entertainment or soothing, but with the possibility of obtaining milk to quench hunger. It is not necessary to wait exactly from one feeding to the next, as all children are different, and during the day the appetite can change. But giving a breast every half hour also does not make sense. It is proved that if a child actively sucks a breast for 5 minutes, then he can be fed for 2 hours.

Lactation is a great time for mom and baby. Try to make sure that you and your child are comfortable and comfortable. Then breastfeeding will not be a heavy burden, but a pleasant pastime with a small native man.
