In general, the homeland of the perennial is Hainan Island, which is in China. But today the geography of its growth is much wider: Thailand, Indonesia and China. For a long time in the countries of Western Europe , the root of the Kolgan was considered to be the Russian root, and they called it exactly because it came from there exactly from our state. Although as a medicine, it was used much later - initially the rhizome was used as a seasoning for main dishes, as it gave the food a spicy, sour-sharp taste.
What is the reason for such popularity of the medicinal plant? Kolgan's root has excellent anti-inflammatory, haemostatic, expectorant, soothing, choleretic properties. Also from our ancestors came recipes for the preparation of broths, which coped very well with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract - with gastritis, stomach ulcers, long-standing diarrhea, enterocolitis and inflammatory processes in the intestine.
But not only tinctures were used and used at this time. Excellent antimicrobial properties and has an ointment, prepared on the basis of the root of the Kalgan. Heavy bleeding wounds, frostbite, eczema, burns, cracks - any of these diseases can be cured with compresses or lotions from the "Russian root". Its positive effect on the respiratory system has been noted, not only with a strong cough or bronchitis, but also with emphysema or tuberculosis in the patient.
However, not all can freely take a large number of medicines based on this plant. You should be very careful if you have hypertension, low acidity of the stomach or increased coagulability of the blood. As in cases with tablets, there may be an overdose, the symptoms of which are nausea, vomiting and severe pain in the stomach.
