For more than a decade, a huge unfinished building, similar to a ghost ship, scares the inhabitants of the northern outskirts of Moscow. Khovrinsk hospital has long enjoyed a folk reputation in the people. As it is only called: the house of horror, and the citadel of darkness, and the cradle of nightmares. And not without reason. It remains only a mystery, what horrors hide these gloomy walls.

It all began in 1981, even under the Soviets. Then Khovrinsky hospital was a grandiose construction. They planned to build a huge medical center, which had no analogues in the USSR. According to the project, the center consisted of six 10-storey buildings and accommodated 1,300 patients. It was planned to place on the roof a helipad for helicopters for ambulances, as well as to make numerous entrances for transport. For those times, and now, the largest, capacious and modern medical complex would be Khovrinskaya hospital.

Legends say that the construction began on the site where there used to be an old Russian cemetery. Therefore, the construction site was visited all the time by failures, which clearly did not contribute to the construction of the facility. Old-timers say that once on this place there was a huge swampy swamp. And, most likely, it's true. After all, a completely built building slowly and irreversibly falls lower and lower into the groundwater. This happens even today: during the construction and until today the sediment is 12 meters. The first floor of the building is almost completely flooded with water.

In 1985, construction was stopped. And from the time when the last worker left this building, Khovrivska hospital has begun to live its full secrets and tragedies with life.

Since the 80s of the 20th century, hospitals have been missing in the district, many people have been killed and mutilated. And in the walls of the abandoned building, dark personalities arranged their terrible rituals .

In the people Khovrivska hospital was called "Umbrella". All because of its strange shape, which resembles the logo of the secret corporation from the films "Resident Evil" and the computer game "Resident Evil". Some even see the interlacing of two skulls in the guise of a hospital.

After the construction was stopped, the abandoned building became a haven for the satanic sect Nemostor. In the gloomy walls of the hospital, they performed their eerie Satanic rituals. They said that they sacrifice not only animals, but also people. People and animals really began to disappear in the Khovrivskyi district. This could not but draw the attention of the guards of order. The Satanists began to lead the hunt, as a result the sect disappeared. And no one knows what became of them. It is rumored that the police drove them into the tunnel under the building, and they all shot down, then flooded the tunnel. And since the place of their death was Khovrinskaya abandoned hospital, the ghosts of Satanists are still wandering through the tunnels of the building in search of revenge.

Many who have visited the abandoned building say that they heard some strange sounds, children's screams and crying, saw something rushing about the dilapidated walls and corridors of the hospital.

This old abandoned building has already taken many human lives. Someone is finding someone else. All locals still remember how one old woman went to Khovrin hospital in search of her missing dog. She fell into one of the holes in the floor of the building, broke her legs and died a slow and painful death.

Another loud victim of the hospital was a young 16-year-old boy, nicknamed "Edge". He committed suicide by jumping into the elevator shaft. What made the guy do this, is still not known. Maybe it's from unrequited love, or maybe this is the black influence of an abandoned building. According to legend, his ghost is still somewhere in the mines of the Khovrin hospital.

Strangely enough, but the eerie and gloomy atmosphere of the building, like a magnet, attracts the curious. Today in this abandoned building huddle wild and terrible homeless. Here Satanists, punks and Goths make their pilgrimages.

How long this story will last, nobody knows. After all, the construction and reconstruction of the building will require huge funds, which, unfortunately, simply do not exist. Therefore, apparently, the "citadel of darkness" will continue to terrify the entire district for a long time.
