"Kalina red", Shukshin: a summary of chapters, analysis

Have you noticed that some authors are so figurative, but at the same time they write their works uncomplicated, that even after many years the memories of their creations pop up in their heads with whole films. So vividly imagine the hero of the story during the reading that then, when faced with the adaptation, you literally cry out: "Exactly, that's exactly what he looks like!" This is exactly what happens while watching the movie "Kalina Krasnaya" (Shukshin). The brief content of this story may take a few minutes, but the experience remains with us forever.

Vasily Shukshin - a great tragedian

Literary critics unanimously affirm that such a merging of different talents and qualities into a single whole will amaze and inspire more than one generation of readers. Even despite the fact that the work of Vasily Makarovich belongs to the Soviet era. "Red Kalina" (a brief summary of the chapters will be discussed later) is the brightest example of how the author dissolves, does not notice himself in the face of those problems that he raises before the readers. Shukshin literally belonged to art.

Sometimes critics say that Vasily Makarovich "demonstrated" himself, flaunted him, to get even more recognition. But his friends and relatives, as well as many literary critics say the opposite: every indication of himself, every demonstration of his "I" was completely alien to him. That's why it became unforgettable.

Kinopovest

Take, for example, almost the most famous of his work - "Red Kalina". Shukshin (the summary will not give emotional heat, but at least remind the story line) wrote this kinopovest in 1973. The dynamism of the plot, the multitude of dialogues and the narration from the third person - these are the main literary characteristics of the work.

Critics immediately noticed that such an image of the protagonist - Yegor Prokudin - was not yet in art. It is he who distinguishes the film "Red Kalina" from the general series. A brief description of his nature is as follows: he is gentle and sentimental, embraces almost every oncoming birch, he is rude and "climbs on the blaze"; In one minute Yegor is cheerful and kind, and the next - already a bandit and a lover of drinking. Some literary critics thought that such inconsistency indicates the absence of character, and therefore, does not convey the whole truth of life "Kalina red".

Summary (the analysis of his interlocutors Shukshin conducted lightning and accurate) of all the events that happened to him, he - an actor, director and writer - literally lived. All, whether it was a retelling of a quarrel with a watchman or a meeting of the dawn, caused in him a storm of passion and burst into paper and film. This "trinity" created Shukshin a lot of problems in life.

Consistent inconsistency

The apparent inconsistency of Prokudin's actions is actually not simple, not spontaneous. Shukshin managed to convey the logic of an ordinary man. We do not understand, and, most likely, we should not understand and accept the actions of this person. But this does not mean that such a life has no right to exist in principle.

So, "Red Kalina", Shukshin. The summary begins with the fact that Yegor - a thief-recidivist - receives instructions from the head of the zone, where Prokudin was serving his sentence. In the morning he must go free, and we become aware of some of this man's dreams: to have a cow and get married. Yegor has never seen her in her life yet. They met by correspondence.

Once free, Prokudin goes to his friends (as you understand, also "unclean in his hand"). The company gathered there waiting for news about how the next robbery took place. Everyone is trying to ask Gore (that's what Yegor's friends are called) about prison, but he does not want to talk about it at all. Spring is outdoors, and Prokudin enjoys life.

The phone call is interrupted by a round-up: the militia has covered the militia, and all need to disperse. Realizing that he was not threatened with anything, Prokudin was also running. This is the power of habit ...

Road to a normal life

How are the events unfolding in the story "Red Kalina"? Shukshin (the summary does not convey all the nuances of Prokudin's relationship to life) sends his hero to a meeting with his future wife - Anyone. She meets him at the bus stop and leads her parents.

In order not to frighten the elderly, Lyuba says that her elect is a former accountant. But, left alone with his parents and answering questions, Yegor says: "I killed seven, I did not have the eighth ...". He is sure that a person has the right to rehabilitation, but, after receiving punishment, it is impossible to return. And you can not judge him. He criticizes the "backward" old people and their worldview, trying on the role of public figure.

Prejudice

Public morality is quite clearly spelled out in the story "Red Kalina". Content (Shukshin repeatedly shows the influence of society on the individual) conversations of Lyuba, her mother and daughter-in-law about a new acquaintance comes down to discontent for only one reason: Yegor just got out of prison. Women convey the opinion of fellow villagers.

And Yegor himself spends time in the bath with his brother Lyuba, Peter. This taciturn man is absolutely indifferent to what is happening. He is too lazy to get acquainted with Egor and to conduct intimate conversations with him. Scenes with Yegor's resentment of Peter, with the ensuing understanding that not pride and prejudice drive him, but the usual taciturnity, was very vividly described by Vasily Shukshin. "Kalina red" (a brief summary we try to remember) continues with Peter's cry from the bath, everyone grabs "for the hard" and runs to the rescue. But in fact Egor accidentally splashed the boiling water on Peter. The incident is turned into a joke, and the rest of the evening is held in a "warm friendly atmosphere".

Details

Lyuba's friend, Varya, offers to part with Egor and take back her ex-husband - Kolka. It's a little thing, that he's a drunk. Varya laughingly talks about her happy life with her husband-alcoholic. Her story is that beating a drunkard with a rolling pin is the norm, somewhat distorts Lyuba. Lyuba does not want to be "like everyone else," and this is very annoying fellow villagers.

And Prokudin, meanwhile, is thinking about his comrades, whom he had time to see after leaving prison. One of them (Guboshlep), he even sends money by mail. Why does Shukshin show all this? "Red Kalina", the brief content of which is our present interest, conveys the mood of the society towards repeat offenders, to those who are against the accepted norms. Shukshin could not help raising this topic in his work.

Rooker

Egor is boozing in a restaurant with strangers. He pours money and in every possible way "corrupts" (as Shukshin himself called it): he sings, dances, drinks and utters pretentious speeches. But closer to the night, he remembers Luba, calls her and says that the cases detained him in the city. Mother does not believe such a "legend", but Luba is rescued by her father and helps her to talk to her mother. It is the support of the father that Shukshin insistently emphasizes.

"Kalina red" - a short summary again does not contain all the events and dialogues - continues with the fact that Prokudin takes a taxi and returns to Luba. But she goes to her brother, and they continue to drink in a bath (in a dark close world, as Shukshin called it).

New work

Seeing Luba in the morning to the farm where she works, Yegor remembers his childhood - his mother, cow Manka and boyish carelessness. Luba mentions in passing a drunkard, an ex-husband. So for easy chatter they reach the farm, where Egor gets acquainted with the director and immediately gets a job as a chauffeur. After completing the first task, Prokudin refuses to work and says that the tractor is easier for him.

In the evening, on a borrowed truck, Gore is taking Lyuba to a neighboring village. He asks her to introduce herself as a social worker and talk with the old lady Kudelikha. He himself during this visit looks very serious and does not take off his black glasses. On the way home it turns out that they visited Yegor's mother.

Even a short summary of the story "Red Kalina" by Shukshin can not be conveyed without describing the moment when, first sitting behind the wheel of the tractor, Prokudin makes the first furrow. He is overflowed with joy and pride, he can not breathe the smell of plowed land.

Not without knots

When a former husband and his friends go to the house and try to swing their rights, Egor pushes the entire company out of the gate with his fists. Summary of the story "Kalina red" Shukshin can not convey the full extent of the cinematic scene of this fight. After all, it ended with the fact that under the heavy gaze of Yegor Kolka, who was going towards him with Kolka, stopped.

There was another trouble in the life of Prokudin. From the city came to him a former friend of Shura. He brought money from Guboshlep, who were supposed to help Egor return to the old life. But Prokudin refuses such an offer, hurling money into the face of the visitor. Yegor manages to reassure the worried Lyuba, but it is clear that he himself is on the verge of platoon.

The tragic death

Working in the field, Egor notes on the edge of the forest "Volga" with his former friends. He goes to them, and we in the meantime learn that Guboshlep decided to get even with Grief for the fact that he left the thieves' life.

By the time, as troubled Lyuba figured out what was happening, and drove up with her brother to the forest edge, the city visitors were already leaving home. Lyuba found a seriously wounded Egor, and he and Peter tried to help Prokudin. But at some point, he felt a near death and asked to put it on the ground to listen ... Of the latest strength, Yegor Prokudin asked to give his money to his mother.

"And he lay, a Russian peasant, in his native steppe, near the house ..."
