Bus stop: views and GOSTs

The bus stop is a small architectural form, designed, in addition to ensuring the convenience of waiting for public transport by passengers, to serve as a decoration of city streets. Currently, a variety of types of similar structures are produced. What should be guided when choosing a particular design, are there certain standards for their construction? This is what we will talk about in this article.

Bus stop: a variety of pavilions

Classification of stopping complexes is made on the basis of various signs. First, the pavilions vary in their degree of capacity. The choice of the type of pavilion for one or another site depends first of all on how many passengers will pass the object. In this plan, the following types of stops are distinguished:

  • Small capacity (up to 10 people);
  • Constructions of average capacity (designed for 10-20 people);
  • Large capacity (more than 20 people).

Also, pavilions can differ in layout features. From this point of view, there are stops:

  • Open type (barrier structures are absent);
  • Semi-closed type (three walls);
  • Closed type (often retrofitted cashier).

Installation of a bus stop of a certain design and design is a process that is sufficiently responsible and requires a serious approach. After all, these structures are in the open and are clearly visible. Therefore, special requirements are imposed on the design of these small architectural forms.

Types of designs

In rural areas and on country roads, bus stop is very often an element that harmoniously fits into the surrounding natural landscape. At the same time, folklore motifs are usually present in the design. Such structures are constructed using local materials. Stops of this kind serve as a real decoration of the route and heat is perceived by the travelers.

In urban conditions, however, it is more successful to use a more modern technocratic option. In this case, the bus stop is first of all one of the elements of the urban design of the metropolitan streets. In the manufacture of these structures, materials such as metal profile, concrete, plastic, polycarbonate, etc. are most often used.

Bus stops: GOST

Of course, special requirements, reflected in GOSTs, are imposed on such high-risk designs. So, each stop should include such elements:

  1. Stop and landing area.
  2. Waiting areas (on the roads of I - III category).
  3. A visiting pocket.
  4. The dividing strip (at the abutment of the road to the pavilion and in the intersection of roads).
  5. Nearby there must be a pedestrian crossing or a path.
  6. Benches.
  7. With respect to roads I-III category, a toilet is installed near the stop.
  8. In the same case, there is a container near the pavilion for a garbage container. If we are talking about highways of the IV category, the stop is equipped with an urn.
  9. The stop should be illuminated.
  10. Of course, all traffic signs, fences and markings provided by the traffic rules should be installed close to the pavilion.

Bus stop as one of the most important elements of the road design should have the most aesthetic design, attract attention and harmoniously fit into the surrounding landscape.
