It turns out that the title of a gamer describes you not only as a person who can pass all levels of the popular "race", but also as a very mentally developed person. Experimentally, it was proved that video games do not slow down, but, on the contrary, stimulate the brain.

Being a gamer is useful?

Scientists have found out why this hobby has a positive effect on mental development. In the process of playing the gamer uses a lot of brain functions, as a result, it significantly improves attention, coordination of movements, reaction and the amount of long-term memory.

It was also found that owners, in the opinion of the public, have a much better cognitive ability than the rest of the population.

The higher the level in the game, the better

The most interesting part of the experiment was to compare the functional capabilities that the brain of gamers of two types operates: amateurs and experts. The process involved 30 people from the first category, and 27 - from the second. The main object of the study was the island bark, which is responsible for cognitive functions and perception.

Experts in the field of video games found a much larger development of the cerebral hemispheres than in amateurs. This is especially noticeable in the left hemisphere. This half of the body affects the ability to make calculations and create logical chains. Therefore, gamers-experts showed themselves as real geniuses, easily forming complex strategies for solving various situations.

Who has more gray matter?

An important indicator of the quality of the functioning of the brain is, of course, the speed with which it processes information. This task completely falls on the so-called gray matter. Depending on its quantity, the productivity of the organ is determined. According to the data, brain experts in the field of computer games contain more gray matter than amateurs. The most pronounced accumulation of the component was observed in the left hemisphere and the central part of the island's crust.

Thanks to the gray matter, the brain processes the data, on the basis of which it transmits signals to the central nervous system. From this we can conclude that gamers have this function perfectly. So, perhaps, the public is wrong about the harmful impact of computer games on mental abilities.
