I'm afraid to fly by plane! What to do?

Any person experiences a certain discomfort when he first sits down in the cabin of an airplane. In principle, for the first time this is quite an ordinary phenomenon. However, if a person continues to fear again and again - this is a deviation from the norm. If you ask the psychologist how to stop being afraid to fly, then, first of all, he will advise you to relax, take a look in the airplane window and admire the divine heavenly beauty. But this is all - special psycho. We are with you, friends, we understand this! After all, it's unlikely that a person who has a heart trembling when he lifts an airplane into the air and jumps out of his chest! At the moment, he probably will not remember the recommendations of the psychologist, he just wants to scream, run away and hide away from this nightmare. Remember how afraid the flights hero of one of the stories of Stephen King. He simply could not find a place! As a result, he brought himself to insanity: he began to see a hairy devil sitting on the wing of an airplane and dismantling his fuselage! In my opinion, it's just awful, and the blame for everything is aerophobia!

How does aerophobia manifest itself?

Prerequisites

Scientists say that the matter here is not so much in aerophobia as in the disease, but in fear, which causes the very sensation of flight, because this environment is not natural for a person. The fact is that our vestibular apparatus is very sensitive, so it reacts painfully to the lack of soil underfoot, moreover, accompanied by a change in altitude and speed. This already significant stress for the body is supplemented by a fear of death. A person in an airplane intensely (and in most cases falsely) anticipates a danger, because he understands that in the event of a plane crash he will be completely powerless and, most likely, die.

Manifestations

  1. This disease can begin at any time (even before planting), for example, once you have arrived at the airport.
  2. At the mere thought of the forthcoming flight, a man begins to embrace a real horror and wild fear: hands and knees begin to shake , an irresistible desire to return a ticket to the ticket office, choosing an alternative mode of transportation (train, bus).
  3. A person can slowly start to go insane. He will be feverish in a cold sweat. Hallucinations are not excluded. In this case, a doctor is required.

I'm afraid to fly on an airplane ... What if I have aerophobia?

Forget about the TV!

Impressive people psychologists do not recommend to get carried away watching movies-catastrophes, TV shows and news on a similar subject. This has a detrimental effect on the emotional component of a person and on his desire to fly.

Fly and do not be afraid of heights!

Friends, I personally did not really help the first advice. I'm still afraid to fly by plane. What to do in this case? I tried to find an answer to my own question. It turns out that we need to urgently use the so-called flight simulator! This is a kind of treatment for aerophobia. You will be placed in an interesting room, completely and completely repeating the aircraft cabin. However, this is not free. If you care about your finances, then psychologists recommend taking self-medication: arrange a cabin in your home in one of the rooms and live for some time. Well, at my leisure I'll try! Good luck to you!
