If your chainsaw does not work well: adjust the carburetor for beginners
Chainsaw is indispensable in cases where it is required to perform work in places severely divorced from civilization. However, in the garden is also much more convenient to use a gasoline tool, rather than drag a dozen or two meters of the extension cable.
Basic concepts
On any modern saw, the carburetor has three special screws:
- L - for a low-speed jet.
- H - is intended for adjustment of a jet with high turns.
- T - the screw for "adjustment" of idling.
The location of each of them is specific for different manufacturers, so to clarify this issue follows, using the instruction manual. The easiest way to adjust the carburetor chainsaw "Friendship", as the instruction for its maintenance is easy to find.
What are screws for?
Quite the contrary, the idling is adjusted . If the screw "T" is turned clockwise, the revolutions will increase. Once again, we recall that each chainsaw, whose carburetor adjustment we are considering, has a unique arrangement of tuning organs . So carefully read the instruction manual!
Basic setting
The initial setting is carried out at the factory. Note that this adjustment provides a slightly more saturated fuel mixture. It must be kept in the first hours when the chainsaw works. Adjusting the carburetor further assumes more precise settings.
How to do it?
Note that first adjust the screw "L", then go to "H", and in the end go to the "T" setting.
Adjust the speed
To begin with, you will need to find the highest rpm at idle by turning the "L" valve clockwise or in the opposite direction. Once you have found the peak speed, turn the screw 1/4 counterclockwise. If the chain continues to rotate after this, it is necessary to turn the screw "T" counterclockwise.
Once the engine has run at full speed for at least 10 seconds, you must unscrew the "H" by 1/4 turn, moving it counterclockwise. Run the tool again for at least ten seconds. Always check the maximum speed!
If their number does not match the passport data, the adjustment should be repeated. In case you asked too poor a mix, the engine will "scream". If the "food" is too rich, then from the muffler will go fat smoke.
Thus, the modern chainsaw, whose carburetor adjustment we have examined, is quite a complex tool.
