What does the normal and mirror arrangement of organs in man look like?
Consider the usual arrangement of organs in humans.
The brain - the organ in the form of a mass of nerve tissue - is located inside the skull. The spinal cord, which consists of the nerves associated with the brain, is located in the vertebral canal. His origin, he takes in the medulla oblongata, stretching to the lower back. The pituitary gland is the gland that is located in the deepening of the base of the skull. This is the location of the organs inside the skull.
The thyroid gland is located on the front of the neck from both sides of the trachea. The parathyroid glands, in the number of four, measuring roughly the size of a pea, are located behind the thyroid gland behind.
In the abdominal cavity are many vital organs of man. The liver is the largest organ, it lies slightly below the diaphragm at the top of the cavity. The gallbladder is a pear-shaped sac of a small size, it is located under the liver. The spleen is under the diaphragm, in the abdominal cavity on the left. The pancreas is located below the stomach in the middle of the cavity.
The stomach occupies a position in the left part of the abdominal cavity, with the esophagus and small intestine connected to it. A long tube of muscle tissue, called the small intestine, connects the large intestine and stomach. Its length in the elongated state is more than six meters. The large intestine, connected to the thin lower abdominal cavity on the right, reaches the liver, then, bending, under the diaphragm, reaches the abdominal cavity on the left. At the bottom of the cavity it passes into the rectum, ending with the anal opening.
The heart is a hollow organ, dividing into four compartments, consisting of muscles, continuously contracting and relaxing. This organ is located below the sternum in the chest.
The normal arrangement of organs is called situs solitus. There is also a phenomenon of transposition of the internal organs, in which they are located in the mirror. Transposition, or mirror arrangement of organs, looks as follows: the tip of the heart is turned to the right (it is mostly on the right). The liver is located on the left, the stomach is on the right.
The mirror arrangement of organs occurs no more often than one person in ten thousand.
