The well in the suburban area or in the courtyard of a country house is an inexhaustible source of water. Even with complete devastation, after a while it fills up to a certain level.
Now it is rare to find a person who takes water from the well manually, using buckets. All because the necessary volumes are increasing: 1-2 dozen liters for cooking, drinking and washing hands can be brought into the house without much effort, but washing, bathing and watering the garden area will require much more time and effort.

The very name indicates that this group is designed to work underwater - this is the normal mode. The most affordable ones are vibration-type devices. Their design is quite simple: the coil of the electromagnet is fixed and filled with a compound, the second part (due to which the water is discharged) is a movable element. Since the current in the household network is variable, the piston oscillates at a frequency of 50 hertz (sometimes indicated by 100, but this is with allowance for a return motion). The cycle of work is as follows:
- movement of the piston away from the check valve. Due to the emerging rarefaction, water is set in a special chamber;
- throwing the entire mobile structure back by the vibrator. The water is squeezed, but since the valve does not let it out, there is only one way - through the outflow channels into the pipeline. Then the process repeats. Such pumps are good for not too intensive use: the life of a rubber piston rarely exceeds 2-3 years.
Therefore, centrifugal models are more promising. They have only three drawbacks:
- Rather large weight, requiring a reliable cable and fastening;
- Relatively high electrical power, reaching kilowatts;
- The cost.
The principle of their operation is simple: on the shaft are disks with blades of special design. When rotating on the outside, an increased pressure is created, and in the center - a lower pressure. Due to this, water is pushed out of the pump into the pipeline.
The third type is auger. The principle of operation is similar to a meat grinder: water is pushed to the exit by the walls of a peculiar screw. Their disadvantage is a quick failure in the presence of mechanical impurities (sand and other elements).
