How to make an antenna yourself

In this article we will try to make out the question of how to make an antenna for a TV. We will use improvised means.

The most primitive antenna can be easily made from a piece of copper wire, cutting a piece in 50-60 cm long. And all: simple equipment that receives the signal is ready! But its functionality is very limited.

And how to make a TV antenna with your own hands for more stable signal reception? You can create a design from the material that is available to everyone - these are beer cans. It will not create competition for satellite antennas , but it is very realistic to see a small number of channels that do not require a decoder. How to make an antenna? Yes, it's very simple! Only you still need a coaxial cable. It is easy to find in any electronics store.

The very essence of manufacturing such an antenna is that the volume of the container absolutely coincides with the resistance of the cable waves - 75 Ohm. The length of the cable will depend on the location of the antenna.

So, we do the cable cutting for the plug and install it on the inner wire.
Today's plugs do not necessarily require soldering, the size (diameter) of the cable is more important. For the second end of the cable, two conductors are necessary, the first of which is considered the core, and the second is the screen. You will need to be careful not to damage the insulation layers and conductors. From the honesty of all the work done will depend on the performance of your antenna and the quality of the reception of television channels.

Beer cans must be large enough - better by 1 liter. After drinking beer, rinse the jar and dry it. When the pot dries, cut it along into two halves, as indicated in the photo.

Pre-prepared cable twisted with small self-tapping screws. We fix one conductor to the end of one half of the can, and the other to the end of the second. For the best contact of the case with the jar and the screw, you can make solder.

Our antenna is almost ready, except for the frame.

How to make a TV antenna stable? As the fastening can serve as the back of chairs or dumpling hangers, and in the role of a fixator will act as an adhesive tape or sticking plaster. You can attach the jar even to the surface of the window.

Parts of the jar should be located on one straight line - symmetrically with respect to the center. The approximate distance between the banks on the antenna should be about 75 mm.

Now you know how to make an antenna yourself. Of course, the antenna of such a design will be able to function only in the zone of good reception of the television signal, making it more clear, but, alas, far from ideal.

Professionals, perhaps, will laugh at our product. This is understandable. Ideally, strict and accurate calculations of antenna elements are required in accordance with the received wavelength. But the common man in the street this calculation is not always possible. For such cases, we told how to make an antenna with our own hands. We hope that you will be able to get the desired result.
