How to cook a jam of yellow plum

Ingredients

For preparation it is required:

  • Plum yellow - 2 kg;
  • Orange - 1 piece;
  • Granulated sugar - 2 kg;
  • Water - 1 glass.

Product selection

Usually recipes telling about how to cook jam from plums suggest the use of overripe fruits, because they are softer and juicier. However, in this case it is best to choose the unripe berries that have started to gain juice, but have not yet reached their peak. In this case, they should not be damaged or have parasites. Fruits are better to buy from trusted people who are responsible for the quality of products.

Preparation

Initially, the fruit should be thoroughly washed, dried, cut in half and remove the stone. To make jam from the yellow plum turned out to be homogeneous and juicy, the halves are divided into several parts. At the same time, a syrup of sugar and water is prepared in a saucepan.

Cooking

All fruits are placed in a metal container and put on fire, pre-filling the syrup. After the liquid boils, the preparation for jam is cooked for twenty minutes. Then, all the fruits are hot-grinded through a sieve, removing the remaining cake, and then heated again. At this point in the jam of yellow plums add orange juice and a little bit of zest, which will give a flavor and extra flavor to the jam. Canning
