High-rise buildings in Yekaterinburg are a priority for modern construction. "Vysotsky", "Ekaterinburg City" - these buildings are known not only in the Ural capital, but also far beyond its borders. No less interesting is the history of high-rise construction in this city.

What is a skyscraper?

Skyscraper ( skyscraper - "cross the sky") - a high-rise building, designed for people to live, and to work in organizations inside it. But the question of which building has the right to be called a skyscraper is rather controversial. Some believe that these are structures that touch the clouds, however, depending on the terrain, the lower cloud masses can float absolutely at different altitudes. Some believe that this building is above 100, 120, 150, 200 m. If the skyscraper is more than 300 m in height, it is already called super-high, and if it reaches 600 m, it is mega high. The tallest building is located in the UAE - it's Burj Khalifa, whose height is 829.8 m!

Thus, in Russia and the world, if you take into account the average values, a skyscraper will be called a building above 150 m. From 35 to 150 m - it is high -rise buildings , high-rise buildings. The height of the skyscraper is considered in two categories - the location of the roof of the last floor and the highest point (spire, turret, etc.).

As for skyscrapers in Yekaterinburg, photos of which you will see here, their erection for today is due to the following reasons:

  • High cost of sites within the city;
  • Image of the Ural capital - to take international actions the city needs to find the image of a world-class business center;
