For those who do not know how to break a coconut

Today, no one will be surprised by overseas fruits, vegetables and nuts. Although if some of them you did not have to eat, then you can not immediately guess how to deal with them. Such exotic products include pineapple and coconut.

Many people ask themselves the question: how to break a coconut, because it has a strong enough shell, which can not be so easily split (as, for example, in walnut or peanuts). Before you get to the delicious pulp will have to put a lot of effort.

And yet, how to break a coconut? First of all, you need to pour out the remains of the so-called coconut milk. It is worth noting that the ripe coconut has a little milk, but it is impossible to uncover the coconut without this procedure.

To get to the innards of coconut, you need to thoroughly examine it and find it at one end of the pore (in the form of dark spots without fibers).

Coconut pores are easily pierced by a conventional screwdriver. After receiving the hole, you need to drain the milk into a container, after which you can directly begin the process of opening the nut of the coconut palm.

The coconut shell has a single weak spot, which is located about one-third the length of the coconut, if measured from the end in which you have previously made a hole. To facilitate a weak spot, you should determine the nose and the base of the coconut.

The base of the coconut is fixed on the palm, it has a wider and flat surface, and the nose is sharp and long. Having identified with the edges of the coconut, mentally it is necessary to divide the nut of the coconut palm into three parts. If you count from the nasal edge, the line, mentally held along the border of the second third, before the third part and will be the weakest place of the nut.

Armed with a hammer (you can use the usual kitchen knife), we proceed to a procedure that answers the question of how to cut a coconut.

On a hard surface, put the nut of the coconut palm and hit the weak spot with a hammer. To open the nut does not need to endlessly beat on it, it will be enough to strike accurately the impacts of medium strength. After each stroke, it is necessary to rotate the coconut around the longitudinal axis, while changing the impact site. You can also open it by holding it on the weight - hit with the tool and as a result of the impact of the shell it will crack. After the appearance of the first crack, it is necessary to continue the action, after which the flesh will depart gradually from the shell.

In the case where the nut shell does not lend itself and does not crack, before tapping the coconut, it is necessary to tap the entire surface of the coconut with a hammer. A coconut must necessarily break into two halves.

When this does not help, then you should take a bag or a plastic bag and put a nut of coconut palm. Then firmly tied. Finding a strong surface - it can be a stone or a wooden floor, a cutting board - put a bag with a nut and apply a few strong blows on it with a hammer. Coconut will certainly open, although it will look and not as aesthetically pleasing as in the usual procedure.

How to break a coconut very quickly and without a lengthy measurement-computation-tapping with a hammer? To do this, you need to put it in a towel (draining the juice beforehand according to the method indicated at the beginning of the article), take the ends into his hand and strike (strongly!) Just once on a hard surface. The result will be both a broken nut and a shell-freed flesh.

If not the entire shell has separated, then for a couple of minutes, place the coconut pieces in a heated oven or in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. This will separate the peel from the pulp of coconut much easier. At last justice triumphed - we got a chopped and peeled coconut!

It remains to quickly drink coconut milk, which is very useful and come up with what dish of coconut pulp you will please the household.
