History of appearance

Today, many people have not even heard of such a game as floorball - what it is, what its rules are, etc. The first analogies of outdoor hockey appeared in different corners of the planet in the middle of the last century. In modern form, floorball originated in Sweden in the late 1950s. In those days, very popular were hockey sticks Cosom, produced in the state of Minnesota.

Gradually the game began to spread in schools and sports sections. Initially it was called "soft bandy". In the 1970s, the first rules for playing floorball appeared. What were these standards? It understood its importance and great future, which soft-bandy (floorball) can have: that this unique entertainment will soon win the hearts of millions. In many ways, the Swedes were right. The game really quickly moved beyond the country and quickly spread across the rest of Europe. In the early 1980s, the first federation of floorball appeared. It was the Swedish national organization responsible for hosting tournaments inside the country. Next in line, oddly enough, was the Japanese Federation. Then officially registered this sport in Finland, Switzerland and Denmark.

In the late 1980s, regional federations merged under the aegis of IFF. Soon, other countries joined the international floorball association, such as Norway, the Czech Republic, Hungary and so on. In Russia, the game has spread only since the early 1990s. In 2012, the country has a full-fledged national federation under the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.
