Beginning of the sports way

Ilya Gorokhov was born on August 23, 1977 in Yaroslavl. Hockey began to engage in the local Yaroslavl school "Locomotive". He joined the second team of the local club rather early. There he played five years. In recent years, playing for a double, Ilya has become a real leader, and he was taken to the main team. Ilya played for the Yaroslavl club very well. He was always a player of the starting lineup. Ilya really wanted to win the Russian championship with his native club. Three years this team was close to the title, but she was not lucky. In 2005 she became the bronze medalist of the championship, and in 2006 and 2007 she was satisfied with silver medals. For two consecutive years, it was very difficult to lose in the finals. This strongly influenced the morale of the team. Ilya decided to leave his native club.

Continuation of career

After appearances for his native club, he began to travel to various teams. Since 1999, he played one season in "Torpedo (Nizhny Novgorod)", Togliatti "Lada", Ufa "Salavat Yulaev", as well as in the club "Atlant". Playing for the Ufa team, Ilya was close to winning the championship for the first time. But "Salavat Yulaev" became only a bronze medalist of the championship. For a long time Gorokhov stayed only in his home club "Locomotive".

The best years in his career were in Moscow "Dynamo". There this defender moved in 2011. Ilya Gorokhov, along with the Dynamo team, became a two-time winner of the Gagarin Cup. Although the head coach of the team Kudashov and the club fans really wanted this defender to remain on the team. But the management decided that this age defender is no longer needed by the club. Ilya was not insulted by his own team due to the fact that he refused to renew the contract. It is possible that he will return to Lokomotiv and will work in an administrative position. Journalists tried in every possible way to find intrigues and pitfalls. But this situation ended very quietly.

Transfer to Sochi

In 2016, this defender moved to the recently appeared team - HC "Sochi". The contract was signed for one year. Over the season, Ilya played 27 games. In this team there was a difficult situation. At the beginning of the season there were a lot of injured players. The team could not enter the game in the optimal composition. All this strongly affected the results of the club. The team from Sochi does not yet have the task of winning the Gagarin Cup. For them, the main thing is to show worthy hockey and to please their fans with an effective game in the championship. Nevertheless, the assembled coaching staff and players wanted to get into the playoffs and were extremely disappointed with their results.

The transition to Khabarovsk "Amur"

After the first round of the 2016-2017 season, Gorokhov moved to Khabarovsk "Amur". In February 2017, Ilya Gorokhov decided to end his career. Last his match Ilya spent against his native "Locomotive", in which he played most of his career.

A farewell ceremony was organized in Yaroslavl. There was a positive atmosphere in the stadium. The fans always loved this pupil and warmly led him to another life.
