The diverse sizes of paving slabs give a flight of fantasy and the possibility of a huge choice

Sidewalk tiles - the material is durable, easy to use and replace. And the work on laying tiles are cheaper than when working with asphalt pavement.

Advantage the first - ease in repair

Damage to the cover can be easily corrected locally, while it remains the same smooth as it was before the damage, which is difficult to achieve from asphalt - patched holes on the roadway become mounds or troughs, depending on how much utilities are trying. If one plate is cracked, the fault will not spread further along the rest.

Due to the fact that the size of paving slabs are different, they can be used for a variety of purposes - from the decoration of small paths to full coverage for vehicles. It is not easy to pave roads with them, but here are small areas - parking lots, for example, will come out easier and cheaper.

What determines which tile to take for a particular plot

The fact is that the size of the paving slabs, which first appeared in the post-Soviet space, did not differ in variety - there were only a dozen of them. Now the assortment is much wider, and different types of tiles can become a cover for sidewalks, car parkings, freight transport entrances. The main parameter to be considered is the load on the coverage area. The higher this figure, the thicker the coating should be. Therefore, the treasured amount of millimeters is the most important parameter, the correct choice of which will make it possible to turn the surface qualitatively and for a long time into a full path along which it is safe for adults and children to walk safely.

Types of tile paving

The simplest kind of tile is a "brick".

It does not require the selection and observance of a drawing or ornament. The standard size of the paving slab "brick" - 210x105x60 (or other thickness value). But other values are possible, depending on the manufacturer.

In addition to this species, there are many other forms, the packing of which is much more troublesome, but the result is much more interesting:

"coil"

"Scales"

"clover"

And also "honeycombs", "gzhelka", or square tiles with different patterns, such as "grid", "chocolate", "web", "waves", "parquet" and much more. An interesting option is the paving slab under the pavement.

If earlier under the stone pavement there were thought to be clipped natural stones, now there is a design solution in the lightened version, which helps to achieve the "antique" effect. Dimensions paving slabs-pavers can be 100x100, 100x200, 200x200 with different thickness indicators (more often from 40 to 80 mm).

Pedestrian areas and areas for vehicles - what kind of tile is suitable in both cases?

Such areas also differ in the nature of the load. For example, a path in a private garden or in a park area. In the first case, the tiles will be walked relatively rarely and mostly by the owners. In the second - the road will have to withstand a much larger number of people, as well as the weight of bicycles and mopeds. Therefore, for the first case, tile is thinner, and in the park, accordingly, it is better to choose a variant with a greater thickness value.

In general, the size of paving slabs (in particular, their thickness) varies within the range of 20-60 millimeters. The thinnest will suit for paths of individual use - in the yard, in the garden, where the heavy transport will not be exact. A 60 millimeters is a tile, which is suitable for paving roadways, capable of withstanding the weight of multi-tonnage machines.

What thickness is the tile?

In general, there are such basic values of the thickness of the paving slab: 20, 30, 40, 45, 60 mm. Also, there are options with 80-millimeter tiles, which, of course, will last longer, will be able to withstand heavy loads, but it also costs more, so you need to calculate the ratio of the required exposure and price.

The other dimensions of the paving slabs (length and width) are more important for easy laying. So, if you want to cover a small area, you can find time to tinker with a small tile. For large areas, paving slabs of larger sizes are better. The width and length of such tiles start at 300x300 and reach 1000x1000, while there are also square and figured products.

Sidewalk tile: dimensions, weight and price formation

The weight of the tile depends directly on its size, as well as on the material of which it is made, and on the color. For example, large paving slabs made of reinforced concrete have the following parameters:

300х300х60 - 13,5 kg (unit of production);

500х500х40 - 25 kg;

500х500х70 - 44 kg;

1000х500х50 - 66 kg;

1000х1000х80 - 200 kg;

1000х1000х100 - 240 kg.

The weight of a tile of small dimensions is indicated per square meter. So, the square meter of "brick" with a thickness of 55 millimeters, weighs 125 kg. The same thickness of "clover" - 102, and a square tile with an ornament - 120 kg. Naturally, the tiles of smaller thickness will weigh less. The square of the 30-millimeter tile "California" weighs 62 kg.

Accordingly, the price of the tile will depend on its size, as well as on the color performance. So, the square meter of the sidewalk tile "Wave" with dimensions of 237x103x60 in gray version will cost 400, and in color - 480 rubles. The square meter of tile "California", which is a square with a pattern with dimensions 300x300x30, in a gray version is 330, in color - 400 rubles. Similar to the previous "Web" with dimensions 400х400х50 (difference - 20 millimeters of thickness and ornament) of gray color is 380, and color - 460 rubles.

Equal on the perimeter, but different in thickness tiles, as well as colored in color, different from gray, will cost more.
