Features of origami from triangles

Many have heard of origami - the traditional Japanese art of building paper figures. The same children's airplane is a product of origami. The history of craftsmanship is several hundred years old and became a part of Japanese culture. Making unusual figures is akin to solving puzzles. Origami is not only an excellent developing game for children and adults, but also a source of flight engineering thought, as well as inspiration for architecture design. The construction of unusual figures from paper turned into a separate art form, so the products created by modern masters look so intricate. Today, there are many directions, but the most amazing are Kusudam figures and origami from triangles (modular).

Often there are objects of kusadama - they are volumetric bodies of spherical form, made of paper flowers. The ancient Japanese used this origami to treat people. They put medicinal herbs and substances inside the figures, and then hung the kusadam over the patient's bed. It is based on a regular polyhedron, usually a cube, an icosahedron or a dodecahedron. Less common are models in which the platform is based on semi-regular polyhedra. Such figures are very complex and time-consuming to manufacture. In contrast to the origami of triangles, the elements of the Kusudama are not built into each other, but are fixed with the help of glue and even simply sewn together with threads. Today kusudama is called any spherical paper objects.

Modular, or otherwise referred to as origami from triangles, is a fashionable trend in the ancient art of making paper figures. In contrast to the traditional origami, this technique consists in the execution of crafts not from a single paper sheet, but from a set of identical elements - modules. Each individual part is formed according to the laws of the classical origami, and then they are connected by inserting one element into another. As a result, an elastic force appears that does not allow the structure to collapse. The absence of restrictions on the number of modules makes it possible to easily create large models with a diverse complex structure.

Separate parts are able to fold themselves even to small children, and there are an infinite number of variants of various compounds. With light movement of hands from the modules, birds, animals, dragons, plants, castles and ships are made, in general, everything that is enough for imagination. In addition to the origami of triangles, any paper, even old newspapers or magazines, is suitable. Crafts from modules can be built by a group of several people or the whole family.

Modular origami consists of a set of identical parts, which can have a different type. This distinguishes origami from triangles, the schemes of which are rather intricate, from a more general view - multi-sheeted, where the identity of the elements does not play an important role. In complex bulk-modular products without the use of glue and other means for connecting the elements, it will not be possible to manage. Only in simple cases, when drawing up flat products, cubes of Sonobe, the modules can hold themselves sufficiently strong due to the frictional force. But when producing flat panels from origami, which includes hundreds, and sometimes thousands of elements, without glue it will be difficult.

Depending on the type of connection of the modules, one or another figure is obtained. Models of triangular origami are both flat and volumetric. The first type is represented by polygons, they are called supports, rings, turntables, stars. The second is by regular polyhedra and their composite compositions.

Before you make an origami triangle, you need to determine the design and calculate the number of elements. Schemes, models of figures, as well as technologies for their creation, are widely represented on the sites in the network.
