Destroyer "Fast" (1914)

From 1923 to 1927, modernization and rearmament was carried out, from the first days of the Great Patriotic War, already under the name of "Frunze" participated in escorting transport ships, in setting up minefields and defending Odessa. Sank in September 1941 during a raid of nine dive bombers Ju-87 in the area of the Tendrovskaya spit at a shallow depth.

The third ship with the name "Fast" was launched in late November 1987, and he is still in the ranks. Its full displacement is 7.9 thousand tons, two boiler turbine units develop a capacity of 100 thousand liters. With a maximum speed of 33.4 knots, at an economical speed of 18 knots, the cruising range is almost 4 thousand miles. This "Fast" is a destroyer that already carries missile weapons and an aviation group. The Pacific Fleet accepted a new ship in its ranks in 1989. The transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, which lasted almost two months, was carried out by the destroyer in 1990 in conjunction with the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the Chervona Ukraina missile cruiser, which five years later was named Varyag. During a long transition, the ships entered the port of Cam Ranh ( Vietnam). Kamran base was at that time a point of logistics for Soviet ships and submarines.

Prior to this summer of 1990, "Quick" together with the watchman "Indomitable" and "Chervona Ukraine" made a friendly visit to the port of Kiel (FRG). During the time of the maneuvering, the destroyer collided with a German frigate. The incident ended without damage to the ship under the name "Fast".

The destroyer at the same time was included in the permanent readiness forces. At the end of 1990, he was already testing the submarine in the Sea of Japan and, by the end of the year, was named the best in preparation and protection against weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

In 1991, exercises were held to provide anti-submarine and anti-aircraft defense of heavy aircraft-carrying cruisers (TAKR), and in August - joint exercises in the Sea of Japan, and the destroyer "Fast" participated in them.

The ship took the first place in artillery firing on a naval target among the first-rank boards at the KChF, therefore, as part of the ship strike group (IBM) together with the destroyer "Boevy" received the prize of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.

Service in the Russian Navy

In 2010, when a fire broke out in the engine room, a heavy sailor Aldar Tsydenzhapov, who had extinguished the fire , received severe burns. He was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of the Russian Federation".

In the summer of 2013, a large military-historical naval "Hike in Memory" took place, in which the destroyer "Fast" took part. It lasted 25 days, and in it the ships passed more than 4 thousand miles.
