Excess Weight - Psychological Problem

Today, overweight is a global problem, on which the whole industry is thriving, including various means for losing weight, special low-fat foods, dietary supplements, all kinds of diets, fitness, etc. Meanwhile, all these tools give at best a temporary result. After a diet, for example, excess weight may decrease, but soon it returns to its initial indicators.

Why is this happening?

The fact is that all of the above-mentioned means for losing weight are struggling only with the consequence of the problem - with the excess kilograms themselves, but does not eliminate the cause of their occurrence. The reason, according to 90% of psychotherapists and nutritionists, lies in the subconscious area. Excess weight is a consequence of overeating (with a lack of movement, which today affects the majority of people, extra calories quickly turn into extra pounds), and overeat the person makes his subconscious.

What are these reasons that cause a person to eat more than he needs?

The reasons are often negative emotions and feelings: boredom, a sense of loneliness, fear, insecurity, low self-esteem, resentment, etc. Food, especially tasty, fatty and sweet, has the ability to reduce negative experiences. Of course, only for a while. But that's enough. The body quickly gets used to this temporary relief and begins to demand food every time, as soon as there is an occasion for negative emotions. So it turns out that most people get used to eating stress with food. But the extra pounds, which as a result of this habit quickly accumulate, themselves become a source of stress. It turns out a vicious circle.

If excess weight is a long-standing human problem, then, in his subconscious, the image of himself, as a complete person, has firmly settled. The subconscious mind treats excess weight as protection, and food as a comfort zone. To explain something to the subconscious is impossible, it can only be reconfigured. Therefore, when you consciously decide to lose weight, the subconscious mind starts to prevent you in every way (that's why it's so difficult to diet, deny yourself food, etc.).
In order to change the situation, you need, first, to cope with negative emotions and reprogram your consciousness. For this, psychological help is needed, since a person does not always realize that he is forced to eat a lot, what internal problems become the impetus for this. At the consultation, a psychologist will help not only deal with internal conflicts, but also teach how to reprogram the consciousness in order to change the habitual image of a complete person to the image of a slender healthy and happy. But the psychologist can give only recommendations. Everyone will have to work on his subconscious. Although this work is worth it: in the result not only will it lose weight, but also significantly improve the emotional state, which will invariably cause improvement in life.
