Ear drops 'Anauran'. Instructions for use

This publication reviews the medicine "Anauran" (ear drops). The instruction says that this remedy is a combined preparation intended for topical application. The drug has antibacterial as well as local anesthetic effect.

The medicine "Anauran" (drops), due to the content of neomycin sulfate (aminoglycoside antibiotic), has a bactericidal effect against such Gram-positive microorganisms as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus spp., As well as Gram-negative bacteria: Shigella boydii, Proteus spp., Escherichia Coli, Shigella sonnei, Shigella flexneri, Shigella dysenteria. The drug is inactive in relation to Streptococcus spp.

Another instruction on polypeptide antibiotic polymyxin B, which is also included in drops of Anauran, indicates that it is active against the following Gram-negative microorganisms: Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Salmonella paratyphi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli. In the case of fungi and Gram-positive cocci, as well as Mycobacterium spp. And Proteus spp. Polymyxin B activity does not show.

Drops are characterized by a mildly local irritant effect. Accompanying the inflammatory process, pain and itching for a short time are eliminated by local anesthetic lidocaine, which is also part of the drug in question.

With regard to pharmacokinetic studies of the drug "Anauran", the instruction for its use informs that they were not carried out in connection with the local application of the drug and the low probability of manifesting systemic effects. Applicable ear drops are used for acute / chronic external otitis media, medium acute otitis media at the stage preceding perforation. The drug is effective in the treatment of purulent complications in the postoperative period. We are talking about such operations as tympanoplasty, radical mastoidectomy, fenestration, anthotomy.

To apply the medicine "Anauran" (ear drops) the instruction recommends as follows: using a special pipette the drug is buried in the external auditory canals. After such a procedure, it is desirable to tilt the head down and hold for several (2-3) minutes. To treat adults, drip two to four times a day for 4-5 drops. Children receive the medication at the same frequency, but in a two-fold reduced dosage - 2-3 drops per procedure. Dosage depends on the severity of the pathology. The course of treatment with "Anauran" is recommended to be discontinued after seven days.

Like other medications, the described agent has a number of contraindications. Pay attention to the composition of the ear drops. In the presence of hypersensitivity to one of the components of a combination drug, it is prohibited to use it! As for the treatment with these ear drops during pregnancy, strict medical control is necessary. The same applies to the period of breastfeeding. The same applies to children under one year of age - treatment with the ear drops considered is only if there is an urgent need for their appointment (exclusively under medical supervision).

Special instructions, which should be noted when applying the drug "Anauran": the instruction specifies that these drops are intended solely for the treatment of ear diseases. If there are severe, persistent infections, then in addition to the local, additional systemic use of antibiotics is carried out. With prolonged use of antibiotic drugs, including drops of "Anauran", the development of infections provoked by microbes resistant to the drug is possible. Cases of overdose with these ear drops are not described.

Describing the drug "Anauran", the instruction for use calls incompatible with it medicines. These are such drugs as "Netilmitsin", "Gentamicin", "Streptomycin", "Monomycin", "Amikatsin".
