Diet with an ulcer

What can you eat with a stomach ulcer? This is one of the first questions asked by a patient with such a diagnosis. For a long time there was an opinion that the ulcer is provoked by inaccuracies in the diet and nervous overexertion. To date, doctors have become increasingly inclined to the opinion that the main thing is to form adequate conditions for cicatrizing the ulcer, but if the healing process has started, then the food regime is not necessary to observe. But this is only the opinion of a few doctors.

Diet with gastritis and ulcer should firstly promote the healing of the wound surface. This can be done by increasing the caloric content of the diet, mainly through protein.

Be sure to include in the regime products containing vitamins A, C and B. This will help maintain the body at the proper level and activate all metabolic processes.

Fish, meat and seafood are the main suppliers of amino acids to the human body. Without these products, the normal functioning of organs and systems is impossible. However, it should be borne in mind that a diet with an ulcer should be gentle. Therefore, cook food for a couple (or cook), while it is best to heat it a little longer than usual.

Diet in the ulcer is based on the fact that to deliver the body as much as possible nutrients, but the digestion process must be done with minimal trauma. For this, patients are advised to break the entire daily diet into 3 main meals, and 5-6. In between, you can drink a glass of yogurt or kissel.

Patients with peptic ulcer should not eat too hot or cold food, and it is also desirable to abandon too salty, smoked and canned food. Alcohol and carbonated drinks (including alcoholic beverages) are very irritating to the mucous membrane. Due to these circumstances, a diet with an ulcer should categorically exclude the above products.

Instead, patients are recommended to drink more milk and kefir - these drinks create a protective layer on the mucosa, have antacid properties.

Patients with peptic ulcer and gastritis often themselves know which of the foods provoke the attack of pain and dyspepsia, and try to limit their reception. For example, statistics indicate that most patients with ulcers practically do not tolerate lemon and its juice (and many other acidic foods). This is due to a violation of acidity in the stomach when using these products.

Many patients perfectly tolerate white and red varieties of wine, but can not drink champagne and beer. Very often exacerbation of pains provoke chips, nuts, pistachios and other similar products

The use of large amounts of mayonnaise and ketchup even in a healthy person causes unpleasant sensations in the stomach, and with an ulcer this ensures an exacerbation. Diet with an ulcer should completely eliminate too fatty and rich broths and soups. A large amount of food in one trick is unacceptable.

Correctly consider all the recommendations of the doctor. Too tight diet should be adhered to during the exacerbation, until the healing process began. Then you can afford a little not very useful food.
