Description of the drug Suprastin. Instructions

Many people at least once in their lives encountered allergic reactions. To date, almost in any pharmacy you can buy an excellent antagonist medication called Suprastin. Instructions for use of this drug are in each package with the drug. In general, Suprastin is a chloropyramine, which is available in several dosage forms. These can be tablets, suprastin solutions. The instruction for its use states that the drug acts as a blocker of the so-called histamine receptors. In addition, this drug has sedative, hypnotic, peripheral and antispasmodic effect.

Urticaria, angioedema, allergic conjunctivitis, vasomotor rhinitis, hay fever, serum sickness, drug rash - this is an approximate list of ailments in which the use of Suprastin is recommended. The dosage in this case will depend on such factors as the patient's age, the severity of his illness, and the intake of other medications.

It is not recommended to use this remedy if a person has an individual intolerance to its components. In addition, when pregnant, prostatic hyperplasia, respiratory failure and angle-closure glaucoma also should not take Suprastin. Instruction for use contains information not only about contraindications, but also side effects. For example, this section includes weakness, diarrhea, dizziness, gastralgia, drowsiness, dry mouth. The patient may have other reactions to this drug. However, the above list includes the most common side effects.

How should I take Suprastin? To begin with it is worth noting that the drug doctors can prescribe it even to children up to a year. Adults are recommended to take one tablet no more than four times a day. If we talk about babies up to twelve months, in this case the recommended dose is no more than one tablet per day, which is divided into four doses. Children under six years are allowed to take one-third of the tablet no more than three times a day. As for the solution for injection, such an appointment can only be done by a specialist. If you use Suprastin in tablets, it is best to rub them to powder and dissolve in a small amount of water, especially if treatment is required for a small child.

Unfortunately, cases of overdose with a drug are not uncommon at the moment. In such a situation, a person may have convulsions, increased anxiety, hallucinations, athetosis and hyperthermia, ataxia, and in especially severe cases even coma or vascular collapse. In addition, symptoms of overdose may be lethargy, depression, skin hyperemia and psychomotor agitation. It is worth saying that the most severe and irreversible consequences occur, first of all, if the recommended dose is exceeded several times, and measures to alleviate the condition of the very sick person itself were not taken on time. If the dose is not exceeded a little, it is recommended to clean the stomach by yourself, that is, induce vomiting, and then take activated charcoal. Reception of a large amount of water will also accelerate the process of recovery of the body after an overdose. In any case, it is recommended to seek qualified medical help.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the effect of funds intended for general and local anesthesia is enhanced by a drug called Suprastin.

Instructions for use, more precisely information in it, should always be considered by a person. Before taking the Suprastin pill or giving it to a small part of your child, read the instructions, consult a doctor. This is the only way to avoid unpleasant consequences associated with the reaction of the body to an unsuitable preparation.
