Demiurge is who? The meaning of the word "demiurge"

The demiurge is the creator, the one who makes things, the worker (in translation from the Greek demiurgos). The inhabitants of ancient Greece called him a free craftsman, and according to myths, this is the deity that creates the universe from the chaotic eternal chaos. Adherents of epistemology call it the creator of the physical world with the initial elements of evil and the fall. From the point of view of idealists, the Demiurge appears as a spiritual creature, an impeccable beginning, creating the universe.

Demiurge - who is this?

The demiurge is a mythological character who is engaged in the creation of people, the world, the cosmos as a whole. If you compare his work with the human, then his work has much in common with the work of the artisan. Often in the role of Demiurge in the myths represented representatives of the professions of a blacksmith and potter, as well as a weaver. However, its tasks will be somewhat more ambitious.

For example, Hephaestus creates a shield that embodies the model of the world's existence. The deity-blacksmith named Ilmarinen made the Moon and the Sun. Khnum, the god from Egypt, recreates space, earth and human beings on his potter's wheel. Vishvakarman from India is a carpenter, sculptor, blacksmith, ancestor of all things, a powerful creator of this world.

Divine Purpose

God Demiurge, represented by the history of philosophy as the creator and ancestor of the universe, does not create the world out of nothing. He is engaged in the transformation of chaos into order, the restoration of harmony between the objects of the cosmos, the creation of the immortal component of the human soul. He is often identified with God from the Old Testament.

Man Demiurge (according to the theories of Mazdaism) is the first immortal man who was deprived of eternal life and expelled from the Garden of Eden for sinful misconduct. This is the most ancient ancestor of the human race, which became the progenitor of all people on the planet, which gave them the right to exist, and also gave them a sea of suffering.

Good or evil?

If you take it literally, the demiurge is the creator, the creator of this world, but his personality can be identified in completely different ways. From the Christian wheelbarrow, it's a god. But in accordance with a certain number of philosophical and religious teachings, the Demiurge appears in various hypostases. On some of them it is characterized not at all from the positive side, but on the contrary, it is the dark beginning of everything.

Adherents of such a theory justify this by saying that the world is unfair. The world of animals is characterized by incredible cruelty, as representatives of the fauna, forming food chains, ruthlessly eat each other. People are also not distinguished by exemplary behavior and humanity. If you look at the world with such an eerie side, then it is not a divine fishery at all, but a real bloody feast.

Demiurge among us

Feel like a demiurge, the creator of your own universe! It would seem that the common gods have people, but if you try, it's not so hard to imagine yourself in the role. In the human form, the demiurge is the creator. Demiurges can be called people with an incredibly rich inner world, they are considered not like everyone else, otherwise they look at the space around them. In their imagination they are able to create whole worlds and universes, cities, seas and oceans, people or someone like them. At such times they feel immortal and all-powerful. Etherlords live among people, and they do not even notice them.

Etherlords are the living embodiment of the creative principle

Such people are always single, they are not interested in peer group, they are always busy creating something important for them, their own world, where everything happens according to their will and consent. It is not necessary to do something with your own hands, you can do much more with imagination. This attitude is typical for people of such a profession, as, for example, a writer. One of these authors can be called a science fiction writer named Elterrus Iar, who wrote a book called "Demiurge. Land of the Gods. "

The so-called demiurges are people of creative professions who love and are able to create. For example, musicians can also be called a kind of writers, because they write lyrics for songs, as well as music, and this is also a kind of musical language. "Dreams of the demiurge" is the name of the famous song and the whole album of one musical group.

Psychological characteristics of the demiurge

There is an opinion on the perfection and self-sufficiency of the demiurge, their activities are carefully thought out, and everything they do is perfect. This point of view may well be considered erroneous. Why do they create other worlds, if they themselves are already ideal and self-sufficient beings? It is possible to characterize such personalities as striving for perfection and idealization, not for the real world, but for their own fictitious. That is, those who do not have enough of something in their daily life can think it over in their imagination.

Such people try never to copy and repeat someone's ideas and intentions, nor do they create images like themselves, copying of any type is excluded. This is the main point - to create something new, unique, not created until now. It is interesting that most of the demiurge do not consider themselves to be those, and interpret their activities as fun, entertainment, and play.

Distinctive features

The most important value for the demiurge is the life of intelligent beings who must settle on the planet. Elements such as mountains, seas, caves and the sky are in themselves secondary and serve only to sustain life. The elements of fire, water, earth and air give strength to the inhabitants, and the Sun, Moon and other heavenly bodies are needed only for making horoscopes.

A prudent demiurge turns his attention to everything, no detail escapes his gaze. He will certainly show his concern for humanity by creating those (meaning gods) to whom people can direct their prayers and hopes. A good demiurge does not want people to despair, realizing that they have no one to count on in this life. He also does not deprive people of the right to desire immortality.

If you raise the question of dreams, to which people refer as something not very important, then a demiurge can become for a few hours anyone. Every night a huge number of the most diverse worlds are born, and people still believe that the most important thing happens only in reality. The demiurge of dreams is quite an interesting question, which is a mystery to humanity and embraces a huge niche of the human subconscious - dreams. Do they arise on their own or are they actually created by someone? Such questions will remain unanswered for a long time.
