Under the hood was an engine from the company Cosworth with a capacity of one hundred and thirty to one hundred and seventy horsepower. Another car could boast of enlarged brake discs and a six-speed gearbox Getrag.

The second generation

In 2005, the company released a second modification of the model. It almost did not differ from the previous one, only the original Ford Focus body was restored.

Finally, in 2010, the third generation Focus was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show. It has improved the elements of the rear suspension and added semi-insulated front and rear subframes. In the steering there was an electric booster. The old engine was replaced by EcoBoost SCTi, and the gearbox - to a new six-step preselective version.

Ford Focus ST

Simultaneously with the Ford Focus III, another modification was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show - the Ford Focus ST. This model was equipped with a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine with a capacity of two liters. His power remained the same. The body frame became more durable and rigid, the front and rear suspension was optimized. The model received brakes from the best in comparison with all previous dynamic characteristics. Ford Focus ST 2012 became the winner of the Russian competition "Car of the Year 2012", nomination "Small middle class".
