How effective is the electronic gas pedal

Electronic gas pedal appeared in the automotive industry more than ten years ago, and modifications of this invention began to appear in the last century, presumably since 1997. The first who introduced the E-GAS system (this is the name of this company) into serial production was the well-known Firm Bosch. On domestic cars, the electronic gas pedal appeared recently, from about the middle of 2010.

Various motorists bought a car with a similar pedal and saw that it looked like a gas pedal with a mechanical throttle. Many ask themselves why they invented it and how to make it as active as on a mechanical throttle.

The electronic gas pedal has a number of advantages, but also has its drawbacks. The advantage of this novelty is the reduction of sharp overgas, in which the release of harmful substances that poison the atmosphere. A large number of motorists are dissatisfied with the delay in the work of the motor, which occurs when the pedal is pressed quickly. However, in truth, there is no delay, since the control unit immediately reacts to the displacement of the pedal position, the engine speed increases without a jump, smoothly, which is rather unusual for drivers with experience. It should be noted that the absence of a mechanical connection between the throttle valve and the gas pedal is caused by the simplification of system designs that, during operation, may negatively affect the engine (electrical course stability, ABS, anti-skid, climate control, anti-bug, etc.).

It is officially believed that the electronic accelerator pedal is not repairable. There are craftsmen who undertake to eliminate the shortcomings and breakages, but when the warranty period for the car has not yet ended, it is better to do without them. If the gas pedal is malfunctioning, you do not need to go to the car dealer to repair it; they will not be able to help you there. It will be more correct to come to the official service, where you must necessarily require the installation of marks about the repairs done. You have the right to demand replacement of your car for another with the condition that the car was repaired in the official service at least three times.

At the end of the article it is necessary to say that recently there have appeared on the market various devices, so-called deceits of the gas pedal meter. There are such as "jet", "booster pedal", "spur" and many others. There are a lot of articles on the Internet about such devices, where it is said that they outperform the chip tuning. What is good about such devices? They are mounted in the electrical wiring gap of the gas pedal. The principle of operation is as follows: the device deceives the Electronic Motor Control Unit , indicating that you need more torque at the slowest pedal travel.

How can this be understood? This means that, by depressing the pedal by 5%, the computer will think that the pedal is already pressed down to 60%. This is the same as if you yourself press the gas pedal halfway, that is, you pay for the air. Maybe it's better not to buy such a device, but just squeeze the pedal halfway?
