Caloric content of potatoes - is this really scary really?

As the statistics prove, almost all people dream of losing weight. Especially this problem cares girls and women. Even those of them, whose weight hardly exceeds the weight of a cat, want to get rid of the extra kilograms, it seems to them. Such individuals can, before fainting, frighten the caloric content of the potato offered to them at a table.

But is it all so terrible in the real business? After all, potatoes are considered a truly Russian product. True, many forget that it was Peter the Great who brought it to our country, and it was relatively recently. And before this product was not familiar to Russian people. But everyone is already so used to this vegetable! Fried, baked, boiled potatoes ... Calories for many decades did not bother anyone. On the contrary, the root crop was loved just for its satiety, for the simplicity of cooking. And for the fact that it is tasty in any form, except raw. However, potato juice is good for intestinal diseases, but not about that now it is. In general, this is a relatively relative thing - calorie. Potatoes boiled, of course, contains much less calories than factory chips.

Now we come close to the fact that the number of calories depends on the method of preparation. Caloric content of potatoes cooked in the skin, so-called "uniforms", is the lowest. It is only 75 calories per 100 grams of product. That's just the fact that potatoes cooked in this way are most often used only for salads, usually dressed with mayonnaise. But meanwhile this way of cooking preserves most vitamins and nutrients. And there are a lot of potato in them - potassium, phosphorus, carbohydrates, vitamin C.

In second place - baked tubers. Caloric content of potatoes cooked in the oven with a minimum of oil is slightly higher, but the taste is completely different. Third place goes to boiled peeled potatoes. By the way, in order to save a maximum of vitamins in this dish, the peeled and chopped vegetable should be lowered into boiling water and immediately put on fire.

The biggest, according to most people, is the calorie content of fried potatoes. She only has chips. But there and in addition to fat is full of all sorts of harmful additives. However, there is also mashed potatoes. Cooked correctly, with butter and milk, it will bring a lot of calories to your daily diet.

So what should I do? Eating or not eating - that's the question! If there are no medical contraindications (and potatoes are shown even with ulcers and gastritis), then certainly there is! However, one should know the measure. It is advisable to consume root vegetables not more often than two or three times a week, and preferably baked or cooked in a peel. Sometimes, of course, you can pamper yourself with fried potatoes, if health and figure allow. And try to eat potatoes as an independent dish, it does not fit very well with protein products.

In general, do not rush to extremes - eating one potato is as harmful and stupid as completely excluding it from the diet. In all things, a sense of proportion and a sensible, sensible approach are important. And then you will be worried about other, more important issues, rather than the calorie content of the potatoes.
