Boeing 737 300 - the ancestor of a huge family

Boeing 737 300 is the most popular narrow-body aircraft today. The project to create it was launched by Boeing in 1981. The first liner of this model was launched on February 24, 1984

Before the developers of Boeing in the process of creating the aircraft were put very complex tasks. After the completion of research and assembly works, the company's management expected to receive a liner for about 150 seats, capable of carrying out passenger flights to medium distances and featuring low fuel consumption. In the end, the aircraft designers managed to satisfy the most daring expectations. The first company to buy Boeing 737 300 Winglets was SouthWest AirLines, and the first aircraft of this type with its logo on the hull took off in November 1984.

As noted earlier, the liner of this model is based on the Boeing 737 200 Advanced. At the same time, it differs from its predecessor in several ways:

• The length of the fuselage is increased by 2.64 m;

• Increased wing span;

• There was a digital complex EFIS with multifunction color displays;

• The possibility of installing a satellite GPS-navigator.

As a result, the Boeing 737 300 turned out to be safer than the models of Boeing previously developed by Boeing. Thanks to the GPS-navigator this airliner was able to perform automatic landing even in quite difficult weather conditions.

Boeing 737 300 has good technical indicators even with the condition that it was developed almost 30 years ago. If necessary, this aircraft is able to develop a sufficiently high speed, equal to 945 km / h. At the same time, its cruising speed is 910 km / h. It is equipped with 2 engines CFD International CFM56-3C1 TRDD. The airliner is able to fly to a distance of no more than 4,670 km. As for the maximum altitude, for this aircraft it is at a level of 10,200 m. In the event that the liner does not carry any additional cargo, including passengers and crew members, its weight is 32 460 kg. At the same time, it can take off even if its mass is increased to 62 820 kg. The length of the aircraft is 33.4 m. The wingspan is 28.88 m. The height is 11.13 m. Thanks to such indicators, Boeing 737 300 is by now considered one of the most high-quality aircraft. Most often it is used for passenger flights at medium distances.

To control the liner, 2 pilots are required. It is capable of carrying on board at a time from 130 to 149 people, depending on the configuration. Passenger seats are arranged in 6 rows of 3 on each side. The salon has a good design. The developers have provided a fairly spacious passage between the seats, as a result of which neither passengers nor flight attendants have any difficulty in the process of traveling through the cabin of the aircraft.

Boeing 737 300 is very popular among airlines. It can be found at the airports of South and North America, Europe, and also Asia. The project turned out to be really successful, and in the company of Boeing decided to make it the ancestor for the whole family of aircraft. Based on this aircraft models 737-400, 737-600,737-500, 737-700 and 737-800 were developed. At the same time, it is used to this day, as it is trusted by the airlines and passengers themselves.
