Contraceptive pill "Regulon" is a monophasic contraceptive drug. The medication is intended for oral administration. Contraceptive pills "Regulon" affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian system. In this case, oppression of the secretion of gonadotropic hormones occurs.

Composition

Regulon contains a combination of ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel. Auxiliary components of the preparation: α - tocopherol, anhydrous colloidal silicon, povidone, magnesium stearate, stearic acid, lactose monohydrate, potato starch. The shell consists of a combination of hypromellose, propylene glycol and macrogol 6000.

Desogestrel is a synthetic gestagen. When it is ingested, inhibition of the synthesis of FSH and LH in the pituitary gland occurs, which prevents follicular maturation. Thus, the component blocks ovulation. Desogestrel has an antiestrogenic and minor anabolic (androgenic) effect. The component does not have an estrogen effect.

Ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic analogue of estradiol (follicular hormone). This component takes part in the formation of a cycle of menstruation. Ethinylestradiol interferes with the maturation of an ovum that is fertile.

Contraceptive pills "Regulon" have a contraceptive effect, caused, on the one hand, a decrease in the susceptibility to blastocytoma in the endometrium, accompanied by an increase in mucosal viscosity in the cervix, which prevents the advancement of spermatozoa.

The drug affects the lipid metabolism beneficially. This increases the content of plasma HDL, without affecting the content of LDL.

Contra tablets "Regulon" contribute to a significant reduction in loss of menstrual blood. With regular medication, the menstrual cycle is normalized, and the risk of developing certain gynecological diseases, including cancer, is reduced.

There is also a favorable effect on the skin.

The medication is prescribed one tablet a day. The start of reception coincides with the first day of the cycle. Duration of admission is twenty-one days. Then a seven-day break follows. During this week there is a bleeding similar to menstrual bleeding. Then the drug is resumed. If the instructions are followed, the contraceptive effect is maintained for a seven-day break.

In the case of medication taken from the second to fifth day of the cycle, additional contraceptive methods should be used during the first week. It is not recommended to use the medicine in a later period from the beginning of menstruation. It should be postponed taking the tablets before the next cycle.

The prescription of the drug to non-lactating women after delivery after the expiration of twenty-one days is allowed. However, additional methods of contraception do not need.

During the lactation period, the preparation "Regulon" is not recommended, in order to prevent the reduction of milk production.
