For the Ketorolac anesthetic, the instruction for use indicates the following rules. Children under 16 years of age, the drug is not prescribed. Dosage is calculated according to body weight. If the weight exceeds 50 kg, a starting dose of 20 mg is given, and after it is regularly taken 10 mg to four times a day. But the daily dose should not exceed 40 mg. If the drug is administered parenterally, up to 30 mg intravenously or intramuscularly can be administered once every six hours. The duration of the use of Ketorolac is limited to five days.

If it is impossible to take the medication in tablets due to objective reasons, for example, nausea, then the drug "Ketorolac" in ampoules for intravenous or intramuscular administration substantially saves the situation. More precise dosage and method of administration are chosen by the attending physician depending on the body weight, the diagnosed diagnosis and other accompanying factors.

As with many pain relievers, the Ketorolac preparation instruction imposes certain limitations and contraindications. Categorically it is not recommended to use this kind of analgesic for children under 16 years old. Pregnant and lactating women are also forbidden to take this medication. Contraindications include all disorders of blood coagulability, ulcerous lesions of the stomach and duodenum, especially if there are bleeding, bronchial asthma and a number of other diseases. With increased sensitivity to the drug, it is also advisable to choose a medicine from another group.

Despite the fact that about the interaction of alcohol with the drug "Ketorolac" the instruction for use says nothing, common sense suggests that it is better to refrain from taking hot drinks during treatment. It is important to understand that this drug is intended for short-term use in order to eliminate acute pain at the very beginning of the postoperative period or at the beginning of treatment of injuries of a different nature. For a long-term use, softer and more gentle means are selected.

No data on acute overdose of Ketorolac have been documented, but with severe symptoms described in side effects, it may be advisable to stop taking the medication before the patient is normalized. The exceptions are the moments in which it is difficult to determine whether such a sign is the consequence of the action of the drug, especially if it is observed in the course of the disease, the pain syndrome of which is planned to be eliminated with the help of this drug.
